I really am trying! I do not want to give up. I swear I looked at that maximized shipping tools section twenty five times, looking for the word calculated -- but this time EUREKA I see it! Thank you so much for helping me out. I did post my first item for sale via Auctiva on eBay yesterday, and if I'd been able to open my eyes a little wider I'd be 100% happy.

Thank you for taking the time to put me on the right track. I decided to try Auctiva because I saw so many listings on eBay using Auctiva that looked good.
Auctiva has alot going for it... While I am still playing with it there are also quite a few things I've become aware of that could make it quite a bit better.

I also became aware of how Auctiva could make a TON (and I do mean TON) more money.

I do have a question perhaps someone can answer.

When a template is used/created and applied to a listing and lets say I save that listing... If I make a change to the template WILL that change be applied to ALL the listings that use the Template. I realize it wouldnt be applied to whats live at eBay. BUT will it be applied to all "Saved listings" at Auctiva?
The biggest drawback of using Auctiva, for me at least, is the shipping setup.

Is there a way to specify a flat rate for domestic shipping while still having calculated pricing for foreign shipping?

The thing is, I have items that can be sent in a USPS Priority Mail Flat Rate box, so the price will always be $8.95 for domestic buyers. But foreign buyers don't have that option and need the flexibility of calculating shipping from country to country.

Anyone know how to straighten this out?

No, your existing saved listings in Auctiva stay as they are. The changes to the template are seen the next time you create a listing from that template.

Well thats not good. I would then suggest a new feature that would allow for a "replace". Might not be so easy programming wise that is. Dunno. Logic would say that "listing data" should be completely seperate from a template in say a database. Then the data is injected from the database to the listing prior to listing it. The template name (ie: file) is also stored in the db record. This is just basic (basic) CMS like stuff. The entire idea behind seperating "content" from "template" is so anytime one wishes one can change large (or small) amounts of information be that presentation, additional stuff like "We got a sale!" graphic etc. and have it applied across the places we like it.

If auctiva doesnt allow for this it should. Its looking more and more like I may have to code up a visual basic application to handle this stuff which I really have better things to do.
The problem with the shipping is a real one. You can't use a flat rate for domestic, and use the calculator on International. In many cases I prefer the offer 2 different options depending on where I am shipping. It would be great if you could do this with Auctiva. But if you use the shipping calculator for domestic you have to use it for international as well
