I am preparing my first multiple listing and not quite sure how shipping discounts work. How is the amount determined? I have purchased different items from the same seller and the disount was calculated automatically. Not sure how that is done.

I need to know how it works before I can post. There will be four listing of similar items.

Thanks,
Debbie

Hi, I just did some shipping discounts my self, on the listing page, chose flat rate, (i do not know if calculated shipping works for this). where you see in the flat rate area, enter the price for the frist item, then there is a space for additional items. I had some light bulbs listed, frist (1) $5.00, and each additional $1.00. Just make sure you cover your shipping costs. If you are new at this, do what Rick Bradford said, if your not sure. I just sold a bunch of china, and each was listed as you want, but then they purchased even more from other auctions, so I then combined all of them, to give a shipping discount, and so I still needed to send a revised invoice.
Hope this helps you!

Hi Rick,
I am VERY new to this and I don't understand what you mean by combining the shipping costs manually or sending out invoices (kind of thought that was also automatic...ooops, I know, I still have a lot to learn Smile
Well, it depends on whether or not you have Auctiva's checkout enabled.

I have it disabled and so all of my invoices are sent from eBay (manually, by me). That way, since I don't have a standard shipping discount set up (like x-amount for each additional item), when I send my invoice I manually change the S&H amount to reflect the combined cost.

If you're using Auctiva's checkout, though, I'm not quite sure what the best way to do it is.

Does that help at all?

Also, are you just new to Auctiva or eBay also? Let us know if you have any other questions.
In communications with Auctiva, I was first told that this is a future function that has not been activated yet. That multiple shipments with a shipping discount is not functioning; and the combined insurance function is not working and only individual insurance polices are being issued by Auctiva at this time, despite the different profile settings and implications.
