Shipping Insurance.

I recently had an experiance where I had to refund money to an auction winner through Paypal. They were the first to ever order the auctiva shipping ins. through me.Do I still have to pay for the insurance even though the item was never shipped and the money refunded? Hoew do I go about getting this matter straightened out? Thank you for your help in advance. Holger.
