I am brand new!!! I have never even conducted an eBay auction, but I am in the process. In addition to that I am not a computer whiz, so you may laugh at me! I have listed 38 items in the Turbo Lister 2 and it took quite a bit of time. Can I copy and paste those descriptions to the proper box on the Auctiva site and is it just straight forward to do so??? When I am entering info in my profiles, can I just use the familiar buttons (like bold, underline, change font color and size just like in word processing programs) and have it look the same on the auction as on my screen???? I guess I am trying to determine why I would use HTML and if I have to.

Also in the shipping profile it has a drop down box (in the first section referring to Location) and it says Domestic handling time. Is that how long before you ship it, or is it supposed to include the shipping time also?? I hope I have made myself clear. Thanks
Thank you so much for all the help!!! I learn so much on these boards.

Yes, you should be able to just copy and paste your desriptions from turbolister to Auctiva's description (I just tried it to be sure) Smile

And yes, just build your description using the word processor looking window with bold, highlight, fonts, etc (I believe it is called the Design Editor). The beauty of Activa is that I do not have to TOUCH html which is a good thing, believe me.

To be honest, I do not even fill this box in. I think this is to give buyers an idea of when they might receive an item (i.e. you take two days to ship and maybe priority mail takes 2-3 days equals 5-6 days.....) I don't know, I just leave it blank. I know when I ship items but I cannot get anyones hopes up about the post office. Maybe someone else will come along with other feelings and experiences with this one.

Hope that helps and again welcome! Feel free to post on the boards anytime you have questions!

Marcia,

Thank you so much for answering my questions. I am so impressed by how nice and willing experienced sellers and computer users take the time to help the new people. I really do appreciate it.
It took me quite a while to even find this spot where I get answers!!! When it said something about an e-mail notification I thought it was going to send a notification to my regular e-mail address!!! I kept checking it and never saw anything so I decided to check here.
I have soooooo much to learn.

Thank you again Marcia
Hi,
I have to agree with Marcia, this is a grey area.
Personally, I interpret the handling time as 'The time taken for me to pack the item and provide to the courier' Any delivery time is in ecess of this. As a guide, I always insert 3 days. Usually I dispatch next day but if the situation dictates that this is not possible, the 3 day caveat provides you time.
I have indicated this to my customers before and they are happy with this approach.
Despite this, like marcia, I used to just leave it blank.
Hope this helps,

Where does this info go in the listing? Does it go in place of what eBay puts in themselves under "Shipping, payment details and return policy". If so, the advantage might be to add a couple of days. eBay includes what the USPS-estimated "transit time" is but there's no doubt that a lot of buyers assume it means how long it should take their item to be delivered after they pay..

Or am I way off and this is actually just in a template section I don't use?..
