I think I've gone over this probably a dozen times in the past 3 years, you can search the forum for threads by me with the words maintenance.

The slowest night is Friday night, the next slowest is Thursday night. eBay has done theirs Thursday night for I think close to 10 years. So have we. If we do it Friday night I've got almost nobody working Saturday. All these combine to mean Thursday night is the best.

eBay might do their maintenance on Thursdays but it does not interfere with anything that anyone is trying to do when listing their items. At least I have not run into anything. I personally think most users want their listings to end on Sunday and the two best methods to list is the seven and ten day auctions. For the seven and ten day auctions to end on Sunday you have to list on Thursday or Sunday. I believe any other day during the week - day or night would work great for the majority. Now if we could still list items on Thursday nights when maintenance is going on it would not be a problem. I know when I list on eBay on Thursday I don't have any problems. I think it is a good suggestion to pick another day. I know there are some that will get made at any day picked, but it is just my thoughts.

I've addressed this in the old posts I referred to.

Certainly eBay's maintenance for about the first 8 years brought the site offline completely. No listings could be viewed, no items bought. No items listed etc. It's only been in the last maybe 4 years or so that they stopped doing that and only parts are down at a time. The difference between us and eBay is about 5 billion a year in profit. I'll happily exchange full uptime for $5 billion, lol.

We are actually online for about 22 out of the 24 hours on Thursday, so it's not like we're not there for someone to do their 10 day auctions to end on Sundays. We also have free scheduling. You can create your listings any other time all week except the 2-4 hours we're down and set them to launch any but those few hours as well.
