Hi,

I am an Irregular seller on Ebay. I sell Olympic stuff that I get when I go to the Olympics. That means that for about 4 months, I sell about 400 items a month, once every 2 years (summer and winter). While this is fun and all, it does little more than pay for the trip to the Games.

I am new here, and I have a bunch of questions... most of them have probably been answered before...

1) Are there any fees for Auctiva?

2) Is it possible to have 2 or 3 User ID's on Ebay Linked to one auctiva account (so that I can use the inventory for all 3 sellers names (I may have to do this because the USOC claims that Legitimate pins I get in Italy or China and not allowed in the U.S. and they are threatening to claim VERO if anyone sells more than 100 items brought in from overseas. I have my seller's ID, My wife's, My son's, My Daughter's, My Dogs' and so on, but I do not want to have to reinventory when I have to change my User ID)).

3) Is there a built in sold feature to make it easier to figure income tax?
Big Business is a special interest too.

Hi dejapooh,

I'll try to answer your questions to the best of my ability.

First, Auctiva is free. There are no hidden fees to use the service. There are many benefits to it due to the features that are included which eBay charges extra for if you were to just list through eBay. A perfect example is multiple photos. You can have up to 15 (if I recall) photos in your listing through Auctiva at no additional charge.

Your Auctiva account is linked to your ebay account. So you can't have multiple accounts configured in your auctiva account. You would have to have separate Auctiva accounts as well.

I'm not sure what you mean by a built in sold feature. But there is very limited reporting capabilities in Auctiva right now and no accounting functions at all. While is can handle chaeckout functions it does not keep any records of sales figures etc. That would still need to be brought in from eBay and/or Paypal.

One thing to keep in mind about Auctiva is that it is a free service. And while it has improved greatly over the past year, there are still times when the system hiccups and you may see listings not post etc. It's usually a minor inconvenience but it does happen and it's something to think about if you are looking for 100% reliability. Other than that, you can't beat what you get in terms of features.

Good luck!

Technically correct, however, if you purchase Auctiva insurance (U-Pic) for a transaction, Auctiva charges you. Shouldn't be a problem as long as your buyers are footing the bill for the insurance, just be aware that you will build up a balance with Auctiva if you sell insurance for your shipments, and it'll have to be paid every month.
