I am so sorry, but I need help. I'm sure this will get pulled, but I need help. I made a custom template with the help of Danno (thank you again) but I have to move, cant afford it.

How do I remove the image link section from Auctia in my template and what do I insert in it's place.

I will have to close my account at the end of the month, so I'm assuming the Auctiva image link (not the actual pictures) will no longer function?

Hi,

If it's the photo-hosting fee that's the immediate problem that's forcing the decision, you can host at photobucket and use the copy - paste of their links to the one-page lister. In the Image Selection section, use "switch to externally hosted images".

I remember your template The image tags are all [IMAGEx_URL] in your template. http://www.practiceboard.com/?10324440

You'd need to manually remove and replace the tags with real host URL links or another method to use outside of Auctiva.

Danno, thank you so much. Yes, I have 2 sites, and 2 accounts here. I am very appreciative of the service provided here for me over the years, but I can't afford the plans offered. The one shot price deal would have been fine, but the news came to late I already paid for another service Frown

So say if I use something like clic-pic, or just html, just remove the middle section where the picture links are?
Hi,

Where it has <IMG src="[IMAGE1_URL]" width="400" style="margin-bottom: 15px; border: solid 2px #eb1537;" /> in the code, replace the tag [IMAGE1_URL] with URL link to the hosted picture, e.g. "www.mypichost.com/myacct/picture.jpg" , or you use whatever substitute tag another provider might have in their system (need to check with them). Sounds like you need that first option for direct/hotlinked provider, like photobucket.

You'd need to do that for each tag. You'd also need to remove the <img .... /> tags for unused images for any direct listing (tagless) system type method. Auctiva's system automatically removes the unused code for unused pic tags.

Hi,

I'd rather give folks a helping hand and wish them well. That way they feel they are part of a Community and always Welcome, rather than leave with bad feelings (if they got to go). I understand the price problem only too well. The margin is thin on the vintage sellers and they need aloooot of pictures to get a sale.

I think there is more that's not yet disclosed, and am advising a wait and see for a short while until all the facts are on the table. Look at options, YES, but never close doors.

Check back occasionally and especially watch for eBay announcements....

Danno, you are a doll. No I don't want to close any doors with Auctiva, I cannot sing their praises enough. I saved a great deal of money over the years, and for that I will be forever thankful.

It's not just the changes here, but based on a few other comments, I have a feeling we are going to get hit with a big bang come September. So I've decided to go it alone with a site, and still list on ebay for as long as I can.
