Just a thought- Regardless of your original image size, Auctiva's template will display it at 400x300 anyway(except when images are inserted manually into the description), so I'm not sure you would want to reduce it to a smaller size. If you do then your supersized image (which is your saved image) will be small- not what you want. You want a big, impressive supersized pic.

ninth_wave,

You're probably right. However, I went back and looked at some of my listings where I feel sure I reduced the width of some of the photos, and they still super-size fine. Maybe not as Super? I can't tell. But they're still bigger than the regular pics.

Anyway, I think it resolved the problem of having to scroll across the screen to read the description - and I usually use photos on the top and left.

Who knows?? I get lost!

I am having the same problem! Talk about frustrating. I dont know html or anything it seems like.Any way I edited my pictures to what Auctiva recomended me to do, Edited my description (re-wrote it all) and saved it.(using the enter button whenever I could but still trying to make my description as I want it to look, hours) and saved and it was like I wasted a whole day. I really like Auctiva but I really need some help here. Thanks.
Now that sounds like what I went thru! If I also might add I so beautifully managed to mangle to template that it looked like someone drew it with a sharpy ... perhaps a 1 year old! LOL

I made my pictures smaller and then listed them on the top and left instead of paired and that seemed to help I tried for hours to make my own template but man that is just no fun!
I am not sure where all these problems are coming from, as I seem to have been spared. I don't know HTML, so I always just use the "design editor" mode, rather than the "text" mode when working on the description or the seller details, and I've never had a listing come out too wide, regardless of how I configured my pictures to display in the template.

Could low screen resolutions be part of the problem? Mine is a 17" monitor with 1280x1024 res.

Auctiva seems to have designed it all to work smoothly using the design editors. It appears that folks designing with HTML are having a lot of problems. I guess ignorance has its benefits. Just wait until I learn HTML then I can join the folks with problems. Can't wait.
Welllll my monitor can't handle that!!!!!! let me tell you...neither can my eyes..LOL I did increase it a bit... it's really kind of frustrating I think perhaps different templates have different properties, AKA different proplems ...either those open tables we hear about or I think even the picture placement on the actual pages. The acual "layout" being on top of the "text and not in line with the text moving everything over. That is just my opion.
Hi Srcsweet2 -

I could never get this one to "break". It looked fine to me at 800x600 and on up.

The one thing I can tell you is that in your code you have these &n b s p and templates hate those Smile

For any other listings that you have in question (since the one you posted is closed) check your code for those rascals. There are a couple of other things in your description that could be the problem too but that is the best place to start.

Here are instructions for what to do to revise after you have made an HTML change:

1) Locate your listing in your Saved Listings folder, make any necessary changes, and save.
2) Check the box next to your updated listing in your Saved Listings folder and click the “Get HTML” button.
3) Copy the HTML in the popup box.
4) Locate the item on eBay and click the "Revise Item" button.
5) Click "Edit Description" then click the "Enter your own HTML" tab.
6) Paste the copied HTML in place of what's there and save your changes.

Might I also suggest pasting your code in Notepad or www.practiceboard.com to do your changes so nothing interferes or adds anything to your code.

Happy Listing!
