Hello,

Before I decide to use more of what auctiva has to offer I want to make sure of something related to the templates and listings.

Step one I create a template.

Step two based on that template I create 200 listings.

Step three : two months later I need to change how the listings look.... will I be able to edit the TEMPLATE and will all mt 200 listings made with auctiva using this template will automatically change even if they are already listed on ebay or ebay stores?

OR will it simply edit all of my listings in auctiva and I would have to cancel my active listings and re-submit?

Thank you.

Hi,

The template is part of the codeset that's built and sent to eBay when you submit a listing, i.e. the code is sent from the Auctiva site to the eBay site using that thing called or referred to as the API. Updating a template will apply to Saved Listings at Auctiva ONLY and will therefore be used for any NEW listings submitted to eBay.

For active or closed listing (relist) situations, you would need to copy and paste code to eBay using their Revise Listing editor to update the code at the eBay site. There is a special tool icon <HTML> on each listing in the Saved Listings page for that purpose. It might be better in some situations to cancel and relist. It just depends on the situation and costs to relist vs. time for the manual updating using Revise Listing. If they are GTC Store items, best to catch and cancel them in the last day and submit the listings fresh (make sense?).

Hope that explanation helps.

Great thanks.

So at the least it will update all listings in Auctiva by just modifying one template?

What ever is already in ebay then that is another deal......

If that is the case then I think it is still good.... do not know of anything else that would do that. I use turbo lister and if I have to modify something I have to almost go one by one.... pretty impossible...

Thank you.

Correct....that will update the Saved Listings at Auctiva using the template with the new template code.

Note, there is also a "Find and Replace" tool to change templates (among other listing elements) at Auctiva. It's a button on the Saved Listings page. You could use that tool to switch Saved Listings from using Template "A" to Template "B".
