Because the Aurigma Uploader product is "suppose" to work with just about all browsers, I decided to give Safari a test.

I dropped my 36 - 1MB test images into the uploader and watched the Java Console for any errors or problems. The upload completed in just under 9 minutes and worked flawlessly. BTW....that's about half the time it took prior to the new uploader and sure is wonderful in comparison to how bad the problems had gotten by early last summer with the old uploader.

Test was done with WinXP-Pro(32) at SP3 with Apple Safari 3.2.1 (525.27.1) and Java Runtime Environment Version 6 Update 11 (build 1.6.0_11-b03).

Hi,

The point in testing Safari was to verify the Aurigma uploaders claims, and not a recommendation to switch to Safari for Auctiva use (since it's not currently an Auctiva supported browser).

You might want to check my new thread (just posted) on Linux and Firefox successful test and discovered special settings for the browser.

Hi,

I do think Safari should be added as a supported browser for exactly the reason you stated. I don't know if the PC-Windows version is equivalent to the Mac version, but I do find problems with many pages loading or operating incorrectly at Auctiva with the Windows version.

Edit: I have a tip you might want to try in Safari. Apparently, Safari can masquerade as another browser. To turn-on the feature, goto the Advanced icon in Preferences and click-on the "Show Develop menu in menu bar". With the Develop drop-down on toolbar (now added), select the User Agent and try "Firefox 2.00.12 -Windows (or - Mac)". I tried the Windows, and did get some progress on tests of things that formally failed (like the Description window on the one-page). The Aurigma uploader worked too. Note, this feature was reported as added to Safari 3.1.
