time delay in when items are scheduled to list on eBay, & when they actually appear

Hi - There is a "normal" delay of about 6 hr from the time listings are posted until they show up in search results. This is due to ebay's indexing and fraud control. If you care to do a search on these forums, you will find much discussion of this long-standing problem.

Ebay itself has over 600 posts complaining about this going back over a year. As a check that the listing has posted however, it should show up on your "my ebay" page, as well as Auctiva's active folder, as soon as it actually posts.

Just wait, lol. I sell a name brand of clothing that ebay has a limit list.
24-48 hours before they show up in a search!

yup, i did the search last night and found all of the discussions allright! thanks for your input. sounds like 6 hour delays aren't the worst thing that can happen.

hope i'm never selling whatever you're selling! thanks for the support. overall, it definitely sounds like auctiva is really worth it!

Does this mean it takes 6 hours before item's appear in search results at eBay or does it mean that its actually 6 hours before it posts live?

So if I send up a listing at 9PM it will still END at 9PM yes?

hi meow: no- the listings do post when i schedule them to (ex: 7pm post will begin and end at 7pm), but they are not visible in search results for 5 hours. so essentially, my auctions are not visible for 6 hours of the first day of the listing. but when they are finally visible the start (and end) times are what i scheduled them to be. read other comments in the auctiva community forum for other similar issues. there's lots of info i've found now that i looked about "indexing" (eBay's security process to prevent fraudulent listings). i'm all squared away on it now. hope you are, too.
