Full disclosure - not a coder of any sort

So, I have my custom template and it works/views properly in Frontpage and it used to work in Auctiva/eBay. I use white text on a blue backround for my description and at some point ebay's default white background takes over making my template unviewable unless a user highlights the page(cntrl-a).

I have been through the many posts pointing out the common html cut/paste limitations. I see that some custom template makers actually point out in the code where to insert these Auctiva tags. I don't have these luxuries in my custom template and am forced to solve where these tags go by random guessing.

I believe the Auctiva tags have been removed from my html and finding the correct place to re-insert these tags is giving me a heck of a time. Not being a coder, it all pretty much looks the same to me.

Is there a means of testing my template using Auctiva's tags? No matter where I seem to insert them in my code, it never ever previews correctly and I don't want to post a live listing just to test it. I am floundering and reaching a frustration level near the point of no return.

After reading through many posts here over the last few days, the community seems knowledgeable and helpful. Does anyone have any advice for me?

Humble thanks in advance!

Chris.
