Unable to elete images from closed auctions

I've been trying to delete images from auctions that ended this evening. I get an error message that tells me I'm trying to delete images in current auctions. ANy suggestions? Thanks.

You need to give the system some time to update and recognize the images as 'closed' so to speak.
Not to mention the entire site was slow as molasses for almost everyone today.
