Hi,
I was trying to list some items today, but for some reason am unable to enter test in the description box. I've tried logging out and logging back in, but am still unable to do anything.

I am able to upload pictures and fill in all the other fields, just not the item description.

Thanks for contributing to our forum. I am not aware of any technical issues that would cause you to be unable to use the newer description editor which is currently enabled within your account, but there is a conflict between Internet Explorer 10.0 and the old version of the description editor which causes behavior very similar to what you have described.

I am curious if you may have already resolved this issue by updating your account to use the newer description editor (called the “Design Editor 2.0”) but, if that is not the case, I recommend clearing your browser cache and then restarting your browser then checking whether the description editor starts working for you once again thereafter.

If you continue to encounter the same behavior after doing so, please contact our Customer Support team by mousing over the “Help” tab and selecting the “File Support Case” option and we will be happy to continue working with you on this.

I'm sorry to hear about the difficulties you are experiencing. I reviewed your account and noticed that you are using the older version of the description editor so, if you are using the Internet Explorer 10.0 browser when you see this behavior, I suspect you are being impacted by the issue I mentioned to in my previous post to this thread.

Provided you are indeed encountering this issue when using the Internet Explorer 10.0 browser, you should be able to work around the issue by updating your account to use the newer editor we have available (called the Design Editor 2.0) or by using an alternate browser such as Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome.

If you would like to update your account to use our latest editor, just mouse over the “My Account” tab within your account, select the “Acct Preferences” option under “Settings”, check the box next to “Use Design Editor v2.0” in the Listing Enhancements section and then click the “Update Account Preferences” button below.

We have actually been working to phase out the older description editor that is currently enabled in your account for a while and, as a result, it would not be possible to go back to using that version of the editor if you were to update your account to use the newer one.

If you would prefer to continue using the older version of the description editor and you do not have Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome installed on your computer, you can download either of them at no cost from the following sites:
