Unable to post auction...please help!

Lately, every time I try to post a new auction, I have this problem: After clicking "POST", the screen refreshes and the word "Description" is shown in red at the top and "There is an image in your description that is located on your computer. To avoid this, insert all images using the image button of the description editor." is displayed below the item description box. It won't let me post after this. All the images I use are hosted on Auctiva.
Any idea what changed

Hi,

Are you doing a copy and paste of code to the description box from a word processing editor like Word?

Thanks for responding....

No, I'm only clicking on the box and adding the picture from ones hosted at Auctiva.

Also, this is happening on two different computers and with two different browsers...

Suggestion.....

Switch the Description box to HTML mode and copy - paste the code to www.practicewriter.com for viewing. You will get a link from practicewriter that you can place here in the Forum.

Hi,

The text when viewed in HTML is clearly showing origin from Microsoft Word.

<w:WordDocument>

Also, the very first statement is ....

<link href="file:///C:\Users\Tony\AppData\Local\Temp\msohtmlclip1\01\clip_filelist.xml" rel="File-List" />

Which is referencing a file on your local C: drive.

Edit: Microsoft Word builds code which is incompatible with HTML. A text editor, like Notepad, can be used.

The confusing part is that I've been copying and pasting this document for years now. All of a sudden it's no good to use?

Also, just as a test, I deleted ALL the text in the description box and tried to post it....the same thing happend.

If you switch the box to HTML mode, did the delete get ALL the code?

Hi,

Try typing (text only) the first sentence of your listing (note: description is a required field).

Make doublely certain that it's only the text by switching to HTML and back to Standard mode on the description box.

Well, I took your advice and typed in everything manually. I saved it in Notebook, so I can copy and paste it.

Even though I still don't understand why copying and pasting from Word used to work with no problem, and now doesn't....thanks for all your help.
