I am SO confused. I've created a template. I used the description only tag after reading this:
[DESCRIPTION] - instead of the above tag, you can use this one to insert the auction description only (no images), then use the tags below to specify the location/type of images.
.........
so i could
....
-- OR -- Place each image individually:

[IMAGE1_URL] - the image URL only, you must create the <img> HTML tags

[IMAGE1_URL400x300] - the image URL for a 400x300 version of the image only, you must create the <img> HTML tags

[IMAGE1_URL96x96] - the image URL for a 96x96 version of the image only, you must create the <img> HTML tags

[IMAGE1_ORG] - the entire HTML <img> tag for your original image, no resizing, borders, click-to-superize link, etc.

[IMAGE1] - the entire HTML <img> tag for a 400x300 version of your image with a click-to-supersize link around it. (Smaller images will not be resized)

Up to 16 different images can be inserted in an auction, and multiples of the same image numbers and tags are allowed.
------------------------------------------------
First I placed the [IMAGE1_ORG] - the entire HTML <img> tag for your original image, no resizing, borders, click-to-superize link, etc. just below my Title Tag.
I imported from photobucket the picture I wanted
beneath my title.
Now I want to be able to intersperse my pictures (using the photobucket url) in with my description - between paragraphs - to illustrate what I just said, etc.

Now when on the lister, if I hit preview, I do have my the title and the picture under it and the headers Description, etc. - but without hitting preview I have just a black space. I want to write the description as I go along and insert my pics as I go along. I don't know how to do it.
Here is the place on the practice board showing the template I prepared:http://www.practiceboard.com/?6060464

Do I first import all 16 images I want to use to each of the little slots and then insert that image number as I go along? or do I write out my html right in my description as I do on ebay, using html to put borders around the pics, etc.?
Sometimes putting original pictures, sometimes putting in thumbnails.
At first I thought maybe I was supposed to use DESCRIPTION and IMAGES but that didn't seem to let me put my images inside my description, only let me put them together auctiva style.

Where do I go from here? I've been trying to get a custom listing up for a week and haven't made it yet. The only listing I put up since I joines was one using auctiva's templates and I couldn't put the pictures where I wanted them.

Hi Geo -

The best thing for you to do is use the basic [Description] tag in your custom template code. Then when you are on the one page lister you can add the description and images in the Item Description box.

Type your HTML description and image urls right in that box on the one page lister and the [Description] tag will call all that information at once so you have the flexibility you are needing.

Good Luck!

Thanks Cara,

That's what I ended up doing - apparently do not have to import the photos first. However, for the photo under the Title, I did put the IMG1_ORG and imported the picture I wanted there - above the "Description" to the auctiva spot for first image... when I posted the listing, that picture did not show up. I went back in and revised it on ebay and added it though and guess I'm okay now.

Thanks for your reply. Little by little I'll get there. Will continue this way until I'm comfortable with it and then will try just using auctiva hosting and their templates down the road. I see there is a way to change their templates some too, so that may work also.
