What are "hits"?

When I look at my active listings in Auctiva it gives me information on each item regarding quantity, number of bids, watchers, etc. One of the bits of info is "hits" - is this the same as eBay's viewing counter or something different? If a hit is something different, what happens for a hit to be recorded?

I believe that a "hit" is everytime a person visits your listing, no matter whether it is a repeat visit by the same person or not.

If I view your auction page that is one hit. If I go back and view it again, it doesn't count. (If you're using Ebay counters). Hits count the number of unique viewers. A free service such as Vendio can be set to unique views, or every single view can count, depending how you want it set up.

Wondering if someone can tell me what's going on with the "hits" column on my active listings page. Although I have bids on items, it says there are 0 hits. I have an item that has been bid on several times, has 35 watchers, but 0 hits. Am I missing something? I thought hits were when anyone looked at the item. Thanks

Hi krissiemae,

Are you using the Sellathon counter in your listing? "Hits" reflects that counter (when it's working). If you are using the counter and getting 0, I would open a support case. Counters are extremely important to business metrics, so accuracy is a MUST for use and a visual counter may also influence bidding/buying.
