Why do I need to keep adding the new item specifics?

I haven't seen this myself, so hopefully it's not a widespread issue. This probably isn't your issue, but alot of people who are trying to relist items that they had originally listed before the "new" item conditions were required by ebay, would fail. There's a post somewhere on this board about it, and i got an email from Auctiva reminding me to change mine. Even if you had the item specifics in them before, I know they will fail if you haven't put in the "new" condition field. Sorry I can't help ya. Have you asked support to look into it?

I changed almost all my item specifics to NEW for my cds because auctiva wouldnt let me list any of them.

Now when they end and I try to relist 90 percent I have to do an edit and change to new again

So even if we choose the item specifics, and choose the "new" item condition field that is now required, it won't "stick" when it comes time to relist? That is what confuses me.
