Why is Ebay taking so long to post my listings?

I have been using Auctiva for years and love it, but I have notice something for a long time and can't figure out why it is happening. I schedule my listings to post on ebay at a certain time and can see them under my Ebay account, so I know they were posted from Auctvia, but they don't show up under search seller or item search until sometimes 6 or 8 hours after they are posted. It is frustrating because I pick those starting times for a reason, but nobody sees them until the next day. Any body have an answer?.....Thanks, Mike

EBay calls this lag time "indexing". In reality, what eBay is doing during this time between the time you post an item, and the time it appears on eBay is making sure you aren't selling fake, or knockoff items. They use keywords to determine if the listing needs to be looked at by an employee. I used to work for a large sports memorabilia eBay store, and 99% of their items took over 6 hours to list to eBay because they would have keywords like "Nike" or "Reebok" in the title. We spoke with our eBay rep, and he confirmed why there was such a delay in postings.
