Since eBay is now going to force us to have a return policy and some of us have hundreds and some have thousands of listings, is there a way now or will there be a way SOON to let us add a Return Policy to ALL our listings at once?

If there is no way to do this now, then PLEASE do this shortly as it will take weeks to change all the listings.

Thanks.

Hi helmetbabe,

Auctiva does not provide any tools that that would aid in the revision of active listings so you would need to make these changes in your active listings using eBay's revision functionality. I'm not sure if eBay offers any tools that would help you to make this particular revision in bulk, so it may be a good idea to check with eBay's customer support team about that.

If you would like to edit the return policy in the saved listings stored within your Auctiva account, you could do that using our "Find and Replace" functionality as long as it is feasible for you to apply the same checkout information to all of your listings. If you would like to do this, the first thing you would need to do is create a checkout profile containing the checkout options you would like to apply to your listings in bulk by clicking the "Checkout" link under the "Profiles" tab.

Once you have done so, you would then need to go to your Saved Listings page, check the boxes next to the items you'd like to apply your new checkout profile to, and then click the "Find and Replace" button. On the ensuing page, you would then select "Checkout Fields" from the first drop-down menu you are presented with and then select the specific checkout profile you created from the one that appears thereafter.

If you have any additional question or concerns, please feel free to contact our customer support team by completing the web form on the following page of our site: http://www.auctiva.com/help/requesthelp.aspx

Smile Omg, I haven't heard of Ebay enforcing us to have return policies either. All I've heard about is the soon to be no paper payment thing coming soon where we'll have to accept Pay Pal or other online payment methods. Which sort of makes me mad due to the fact that Ebay gets enough fees as it is and so does Pay Pal. Oh well. life goes on I guess. By the way...........for some reason, when I am listing a store inventory item today, the site has been EXTREMELY slow as a snail and sometimes locking up on me causing me to lose all the info I just entered into my listing. GRRRR, any reason why this could be happening? I even rebooted my computer to see if that would help, it didn't. Thanks. Smile
This was announced at the same time as the electronic payments was ( aug. 17th- I think). You can read up on this in the ebay announcements. The easiest way i found to make this change is by using Turbo Lister. This was suggested by ebay to a power seller friend. You can upload all your listing to turbo lister & make the necessary changes. The only change there is no easy way to correct is to remove the words- money order, checks etc from the actual written listing- this has to be done one listing at a time. My friend is doing his as they come up for renewal (store) or if they dont sell. I think we have until mid- October for this change. Hope this helps!!
Good Luck!

Hello! This link might help a bit: http://pages.ebay.com/sell/August2008Update/OtherFAQ/#6

I'm still confused if that means that you can still keep your "no returns" or whatever your policy is in place...after all, if you don't accept returns, that is your policy, right? As long as you say that, I would think it would be okay.??? I'm going to change mine to say "Returns only accepted within 3 days after delivery if item was grossly misrepresented in the listing" or something along those lines...if they're going to force me to say something....

Just another hoop to jump through, thanks to our friends at eBay!

I just searched the ebay message boards and found this from an ebay employee about the return policy:

Return policy will be required as of late October.

We're working on adding a couple of new fields to Return policy:
(1) a Returns Not Accepted option
(2) Who Pays Return Shipping - Buyer or Seller

These fields will not be available until early September, so please hold off on updating your listings with return policy until then.

Also as of early September, you'll be able to use Bulk Edit to add return policy to active items. Turbolister will also help you add return policy in bulk to your listings.

If what she says is true, then we will still be able to keep our "no returns" policy...woo hoo!
From eBay Help Pages:
Sellers on eBay are required to specify a return policy when they sell items. This is true even if the seller's return policy is not to accept returns. If you do not specify a return policy, eBay will select a default return policy for you.

Note: Sellers are required to accept a return if eBay determines that the item was significantly different from what was described in the listing.
Hi Community,

Update - We initially planned on adding this option back in December when eBay was planning on imposing the new return policy requirements at the beginning of the year. However, since they have delayed the enforcement of those new policies, we have also delayed adding the "Returns Not Accepted" option.

This is actually one of the projects our engineering team is currently working on and we expect to have this option added to the Auctiva listing creation page within the next week or two.
