Hi everybody!Smile First of all I just want to say I love this site and the people on here are great.
Now, I've been getting everything ready to post my first listings through Auctiva and I just wanted to double check a few things. I want to "require" all of my buyers to purchase Auctiva insurance with out actually having Auctiva calculate the charges. Using the Auctiva table of fees by total purchase price, (including shipping), I estimate the insurance fee on my Buy It Now price. I figure that if the item sells for more than that I will be happy to pay the difference for extra insurance out of my share of the profits. Cool I then add the insurance fee to my shipping and handling total. I also have a little blurb in my auctions explaining that insurance is included through the shipping and handling but that it is through U-Pic, not USPS, that way if anyone has any qualms they know about it upfront.
I have turned off Auctiva checkout but have left on the Yes settings for Auctiva Insurance and combined shipping. Should I turn these off as well or well this not allow me to purchase insurance on my own at auction close?
I also noticed that the only options I have for insurance on the listing itself are, Required, Optional, and Not Offered. Which one should I pick if insurance is to be included? I don't want Auctiva to pop up during checkout and calculate insurance costs when my customer is already paying them through my shipping and handling charges. Do I have to wait until the auction is posted and then go through eBay to change the insurance option to included?
I apologize for such a long first post, I just want to make sure I don't goof. Thanks ahead of time. Wink

I'd say you set up everything properly. It's strange that you only have those three options for insurance available to you. You should have a fourth option - "Included in S & H", which is the one that you would use in your situation. Not sure why it's not there.

Probably best to file a support case with Auctiva - they can probably sort it out. Just go to the "Help" link at the top of the page.
