Since Auctiva "updated" their site, I have had nothing put problems loading their pages, which s-l-o-w-s me down and causes much STRESS!!! I have created a listing click save and my info is gone!! I have tried creating a listing using a previous listing and cannot remove the old pictures. I could go on; however, I have had more gliches with Auctiva in the past couple of weeks than in the entire year I have been with them. These problems occur in IE7 and the new IE8. I had not had this problem using IE7 before. What gives?

Even with up-to-date java, running Firefox, in my experience, is not always possible. There have been any number of times where IE was the only browser that would fully and completely load Auctiva Java tools.

And there have also been any number of times that the HTML generated by Auctiva's editor doesn't actually function correctly in Firefox, once it is up on ebay - things like listings looking correct in IE, but with missing text, or overlapped text and pictures when viewed in Firefox.

I have to tell you, I REALLY enjoy posting a listing that looks perfectly "normal" in IE, and coming back later when using Firefox and realizing that the listing has been up for three days and huge blocks of text are missing or unreadable in Firefox.
I'm almost relieved to hear I'm not alone w/ similar problems; It is VERY frustrating. I have 100's of new inventory to list, and I'm spending most of my day struggling w/ the site instead of listing.
I write up my listing and save. I create a similar listing, save, and nothing happens other than it freezes up. Click out, re-open the site, recreate the similar listing, it saves; Do it again, same story: Frozen island. Click out, log back in, and over and over all day long. Sigh...

I have IE7, java is updated, and was told that auctiva and firefox don't get along.

I spent the afternoon on the waiting list w/ 'Live Chat', but as soon as my turn came up, I got a message "Chat is now off-line".

Did I say it was frustrating to the MAX!!!
I have nothing but problems over the last 2 days with this site, I am truly fed up with it and are ready to go away. The service and support part is getting now where and they still have not fixed the problems, How can I run a business if my BUSINESS provider canot even keep us up and running correctly. Makes me wonder if we are even getting submissions out to the web.
BTW - if you know anything about HTML, check out your listing's HTML code - I just love how Auctiva's editor produces utter gibberish like this: (see below)

For those that don't know - it's just insane to be producing code that recursively changes sizes and fonts 7...8...10 times in a row in a single block of text.

I once estimated that Auctiva had added 45,000 extra completely useless characters of code to one of my listings (recursive code where only one font/character size actually displays - but where there were 7-10 nested font change and/or size commands canceling each other out, per each block of text.)

I've had listings where every single possible font, in every single possible size has been specified and then un-specified for every single block of text!

...and yes, I reported it to support months ago - and was told that "they were not aware that there was a problem." <sigh>

I am new to HTML and just learning to make my own templates. I use free tools TagBot and RagTag from ShipScript at isdntek dot com to play with their sample templates and look at the code to understand. I noticed that there was a lot of on and off font pairs in code I viewed. I looked at some generated Auctiva code and saw things that made no sense too. But I also saw that if I don't make up my mind on the selecting a font when designing in an editor and try different sizes, it will turn on and off the HTML code and do nothing. I also did some eBay SYI modifications using SYI basic font buttons to my test code and it liked to turn on and off fonts with no apparent use.

Are there any more free HTML tools like TagBot and RagTag. I know that the eBay shipscript page has a list of tools. Is there one to optimize code and get rid of code that does nothing (on off).
I have been struggling for over a week - jumping all over the page - my descriptions end up at the bottom in tiny print instead of where they should be. I always liked using Auctiva but I have wasted hours going back and forth trying to make corrections/revisions in listed auctions after I discover they are wrong. Please Please Auctiva - respond to our problems. A response I had from help said to use Firefox - many on the forums said it doesn't help. Please put the pieces back the way they were.
This week has been a complete disaster and I've had to do all my listings through E-Bay. The only thing worse than listing through E-Bay is struggling through Turbo Lister. Auctiva has done a wonderful job for us up until now. The Item Description feature is one big blank box without a toolbar. When I am able to enter a description and save it, it is gone when I reopen it. I've done all I can do per their instructions but there has been no improvement. The problem is with this new "improvement", not with us.
For those who are having the same problem as I (saving one listing, and not being able to save the next), I found a way to work around it.

Do a listing, save, sign off, sign back in, view saved listings, create similar, and SAVE.

Sign off again, back on, and so forth....

I received an e-mail from Auctiva today, telling me all about their NEW and IMPROVED site and how I should go visit it. HA!

Auctiva, please fix this mess.

PS: I know a little html, not much, but enough to have noticed all the extra tags.
