aol should be compatible, but be warned, they (aol) mess up your images.

aol has built in image compression to speed up your internet browsing.

before you upload any images, be sure to turn the compression off (otherwise it will mess up your images).

also, aol's cache can potentially cause problems. so i'd turn it off too.

Click Settings on the AOL Toolbar.
In the window that opens, choose the View Index tab and click on the Browser settings link.

At the top of the Internet Options applet window, select the AOL Browser tab.

In the Web Graphics section select the Never compress graphics radio button

In the 'TopSpeed - AOL Web Accelerator' section select the Do Not Store Web Pages radio button.

Click Apply, then OK to exit the Internet Options applet.

To clear the AOL browser cache:
Click on either the AOL icon or the Dialer icon on the right of the system tray.
Click System Information.
Click the Utilities tab.
Click Clear Browser Cache.
This procedure clears both the TopSpeed cache and the Internet Explorer cache. However, clearing the Internet Explorer cache using the normal Internet Explorer method will not clear the TopSpeed cache.

close and restart aol.

Your knowledge impresses me Steve.
I would NOT have known how to answer this question. The only thing I know bout AOL is how hard it is to get email to their customers.

Thanks for teaching me something today!

Couldn't agree more with you!

I know that there are those that are deeply passionate about AOL..but for me? I wouldn't have it if AOL paid me to use it. And that's the God's honest truth.

I'd use copper.net, peoplepc, netzero or something else..there are so many others to use.

The only time that I have problems with getting emails to customers is with AOL. Thank goodness for eBay messaging system now. It's cut back the number of customers I have to call when they're angry about not receiving my emails.

I don't use a subscription internet service..I have road runner fast as all get out cable. My browsers are on my desk top and I boot into them without all the bunk and bs that subscription services require that you have on your computer.

Just spouting off..perhaps this should go in the venting thread. <smile> I had a very upset customer this morning (with AOL) that wasn't receiving my emails. When I contact via eBay contact member..voila...she receives my message, adds me to whatever the heck I have to be added to so she can receive my email. She sends back contact via ebay member..resend my item, I do...where do you think it goes? That's right..her flippin spam. Even after she'd added me to her whatever list. <sigh>

I'm done!
Dinner to get started and this domestic diva has got to get busy!

Peace,
Donna
