I am unable to log in to Auctiva this morning. Is the website down? It is FRIDAY MORNING at 8:18 EST!! I used my name and password and here's the message I'm getting:

We are currently updating our website and database to add new features and fix bugs. This process takes approximately 4 hours every Thursday night starting around 10:00PM PST (UTC-8). Thank you for your patience.
In the meantime, you can find answers to questions you might have on our Community Forums. If you were attempting to contact Community Support click here."

Is anyone else having issues this morning?

Heard back from support team with disheartening news, at 8:30 AM. Here is the message, which at least says that it is not us, it is the system (not much help).
hanks for contacting us regarding this matter, and I’m sorry to hear about the trouble you are having. Auctiva website is under the routine maintenance due to which you might experience this issue. We are updating our site to remove the bugs and to add new features. This will certainly help our customers so they do not face any problems in the future. This process takes approximately 4 hours every Thursday night starting around 10:00PM PST (-8 GMT). However, the maintenance is slightly extended tonight.

As soon as the maintenance is over, you will be able to login into your Auctiva account.

Unfortunately these maintenance periods are critical to the site's development and growth at this period of time. We know that certain users will be affected by the site updates but they must be completed.
Auctiva had a problem lastnight with the pending scheduled listings...Instead of the stated "ready" like normal, the listings were "processing" which never did get processed. After about 3 hours of processing, they would go to "not able to post" status. They thought they fixed it a few times, then gave up and shut the site down.
OK gang here's the thing in my humble opinion. This is a free service and has saved me a bundle of money in fees so I am not going to get upset if things aren't going just the way I think they should. I have a plan for times like this. Since I sell something that requires weighing and measuring I will do that and have as much prepared before Auctiva comes back up to make things go faster. The other thing I will do is schedule some 5 day listings that will end next Thursday to fill in the gaps for the items that didn't go last night. I have done this before and it works great. Sometimes we just have to put on our "outside-the-box" hats and figure our own ways to work around things. Some of you will want to hit me I am sure, :-), but I am only trying to help out.

Sincerely,
The site is back up on the East Coast...BUT!, I scheduled a listing for tonight before the site went down. When I went to my scheduled listings, that listing is "Processing" instead of the normal stated "Ready". They are still having the same issues as lastnight. Beware! Don't schedule any listings yet, it will be stuck in the "processing" mode...And you can't reverse or delete it.

I read on a posting here somewhere that we should be able to schedule listings now. Guess what, it didn't work when I tried it just now. As a result I will continue to just save the listings I make and hopefully I will be able to schedule them sometime this afternoon. Also, I am having trouble with templates but the skinny from Auctiva is that they will show up in eBay even though they aren't working when I make my listing. Anyone else?
I actually got some stuff to post earlier today.
But have not been able to get anything up since and most of this day nothing is going up.
Its now 4:40 PM EST and all the rest of my listings for the weekend have yet to post.

This is definitely costing me time and money.
One of my employees spent a bout 40 minutes creating a new listing , went to save it and it errored out on him. Poof Gone!

Anybody know when this is going to be over? .

"A payment of your balance in full for the amount of $142.20 was automatically applied to your credit card ending in 5356 on 01/09/2009. The amount charged reflects your account balance at the time the charge was made. No further action is required. Thank you for your payment.

I just received this notice from Auctiva...

Hello,

I apologize for this inconvenience. It appears that we once again experienced a technical problem with our database maintenance last night which caused the site to be down for an extended period of time (until about 8:30 AM PT).

If you have listings that are currently stuck in either a "Posting" or "Processing" status they are more then likely going to end up not posting to eBay so you should be able to post these listings again at this time without worrying about ending up with any duplicates.

We apologize for any inconveniences this issue is causing. If there is anything further I can do to assist you, please don't hesitate to ask!

Sincerely,
Auctiva Support

I went ahead and tried to schedule another listing to start in 2 hours and then went to scheduled items and that post was again "processing" and not "ready"...

It's still broken!

After replying to the previous message sent to me by Auctiva telling them it's still broken, they just replied with this;

Hello,

Unfortunately, yes we still seem to be experiencing problems with our database that are causing some listings to take longer than normal to post and others to fail to post. Our engineering team is currently working to get this issue resolved and, while it is hard to tell how long it will take, we hope it won’t take longer than a few hours.

If the items you are having trouble with have been stuck in "Posting" status for longer than the retry interval plus 5 minutes, it is safe to assume they will not be posted. If that is the case, you are welcome to try posting them again without worrying about ending up with duplicates.

The retry interval for listings that are posted using the “Post” button is 14 minutes. The default retry interval for scheduled listings is 30 minutes, but you can choose longer retry intervals from the drop-down menu on the scheduler page.

We apologize for any inconveniences this issue is continuing to cause. If there is anything further I can do to assist you, please let me know.

Sincerely,
Auctiva Support
I received the following from support, regarding Auctiva Checkout being completely broken:

Hello,

Thanks for contacting us regarding this matter – I’m sorry to hear about the trouble you are having. The behavior you are describing occurred as a result of a technical problem we encountered during database maintenance last night that caused our database to be down for an extended period of time (until about 8:30 AM PT).

Our database has since come back online so the Auctiva Checkout system should be functional once again. Therefore, if your buyer(s) tries to checkout again at this time, I expect he/she will be able to do so successfully.

If your buyer is still unable to checkout for any reason, you may want to contact your buyer to arrange payment separate of checkout, perhaps via email or a Paypal money request.

Unfortunately... after this message was sent to me, seven more buyers of my auctions were unable to pay. So, still broken.
I just sent this message to Auctiva support...

Mike,
It is now 4pm PST on a Friday afternoon...
My question to you and your technicians is:
Come 5pm, are all of you going to call it the end of a work week and forget about the problems we are all having with our listings to post and receiving monies through Auctiva checkout system waiting until Monday to address the issues again?
I hope not!
Mike Lambda

If and when I get a reply, I will post it for all.

I just received this message from Mike @ Auctiva Support;

Hello Mike,

No, we will continue to work to fully resolve this issue for as long as it takes, even if it is into the later part of the evening. Our engineers are prepared to see it through for as long as it takes. We are optimistic though that we will have this issue fully resolved before the end of business day, which is 6pm PST for us!

Sincerely,
Auctiva Support
