Can you use Ebay counter by default when lisitng through Auctiva?

I have noticed that the selathon counter is not very accurate, if the same user visits the page it adds another count instead of only adding one count per user with the normal Ebay counter.

I would actually like to use both counters but what I need to know is how can you enable the Ebay counter while listing through Auctiva? I don't want to be forced to revise every item I list, that kind of defeats the purpose of using somehting like Auctiva.

Hi,

They don't support the eBay counter, as Sellathon is part of Auctiva.

You could use the hidden Sellathon counter option (for tracking page hits) and use another counter service for unique visitors that automatically adds the counter with update to the listing at submission via their token (been there, done that).

Edit: There are some free services that also simply add a snipet of code to the listing before submission. Haven't tried those, but it's another possibility.

After I post a listing, I go to Ebay and revise the listing to show "hidden" times viewed.
My experience with Auctiva Sellathon Counter is that it's just not accurate.
I just went to a listing I have right now and Ebay's hidden counter states 99 views while Auctiva shows only 47.
I just accept to the fact that I have to revise my listings each time I post one to try and get an accurate counter for my auctions.

Thanks for the info. Does anyone know what one of the free counter services are? and Does anyone know what where to find a site that adds code to all your listings?

Once you get a lot of listings it can be hard to update all of them manually and defeats the purpose of Auctiva.

I don't mind using the sellathon counter but if it doesn't work then I'm not using it.

Auctiva staff,
Please don't remove anyone's reply about the counter or code adding services. I still like using Auctiva but if I can't find an easy solution for the counter problem then I am going to be forced to use a different listing service. Thanks.
How could I tell without an item #?

Relisting would be one reason why. That item could have been listed for 7 days then relisted. Ours starts back at 0 when it's relisted.

Maybe ours was added after the item had been running for 20 days on a 30 day fixed listing. Etc.

So really that example of eBay's showing 99 and ours 47 is not useful without the item #.
