I have been trying to list all day today. However, every time I preview my item the description information is constantly getting jubbled up and messed up. I thought I had the information fixed-- I previewed and it looked alright-- BUT when I went on ebay my ad wasn't even understandable. I had to cancel bids and end my auction early. Then fix my ad directly on ebay!!!!! I want a refund from Auctiva!

Hi Community,

While it is difficult to tell exactly what's going on for all of you based on the posts on this thread, the only thing that should cause your description to come out looking different than you created it would be if you used proprietary or improper formatting code when creating your descriptions. I believe this happens most commonly when users create their descriptions in other programs like MS Word or MS Frontpage and then paste it into our description editor, but there are other ways to introduce bad formatting code as well.

You will most likely be able to resolve this problem by clearing out all of your existing description HTML and then recreating your description directly through the Standard version of our description editor. You can delete all the existing description HTML by clicking the “Standard” tab on the editor and deleting all of the code you find there.

If you are unable to resolve this problem using this method, please feel free to contact or follow up with our customer support team and we’ll see what we can do to help you out. If it comes to that, it would be helpful if you also describe exactly what is changing.

I thought it was only me having this problem, I too am having the same problem with some of my listings! Even when I try and sort out the problem when I into preview is all wrong again. This is even happing on the listings that I have been using for many week without any problems.
The other problem and the one i came on here to get help with is; I am listing my items on ebay.com and the specification list is not the same as now required by ebay i.e. no brand name or material used etc. Do I have to make some changes and if what?
Hope you can help

This same thing has been happening to me as well. It is really frustrating to take the extra time to correct the error on the listing page repeatedly only to have it be posted to eBay and still have the error.

The same type of problems occur whether I have created the description on the listing designer form or pasted them from my Works programs.

Hope someone can help with this because it is getting to be much more than just annoying.

Count me as another user getting this BS.

I have listings that I edit, sometimes typing new text, sometimes doing a cut and paste from other listings, and the new part when I publish ends up being tacked on to the end of the listing- when it was inserted in the middle.

I have had to edit the same saved listing 3 times to get it to look right!

Don't even get me started about the random fonts and sizes. Using the editor to change fonts and it won't "take", and having to edit small sections at a time so it will.

Oh, and just BTW I have never used anything but the Auctiva editor to create and edit listings. I do not copy text or ads from Word or any other desktop software package.
