I've read through about 8 pages on this community board and am only getting more confused about eBay vs. Auctiva stores.

First of all, when I registered, I did not skip the "generate a token," option so, from what I've read, I am locked into an Auctiva storefront. I have not actually written any item listings yet, so is there a way I can disable the Auctiva store at this point?

However, I would love to be able to get rid of my eBay store fee and use the Auctiva storefront, but I don't get how it works, from what I've read. Would I still have to do auctions to bring people into my Auctiva store? Or could I just use Buy It Now? Would my BINs show up in an eBay search without also being up for auction?

I am thoroughly and totally confused. Please help!

Thanks.

Hi, basically (and unfortunately) you need an eBay store to list in the inventory format, but minimal subscription is good enough.

eBay inventory items only show up in an eBay search if a buyer specifically ticks the option or if there are very few hits and you are one of the largest sellers of the item.

You would need auctions to bring buyers to your eBay store, but all active listings will appear in your Auctiva store.

Not sure if you can disable the Auctiva store front, can any one tell me too.

Your Auctiva store does not eliminate any listing fees, but use of their image storage, supersizing and scheduling are free as is their scrolling gallery.

And the token is required to connect your Auctiva activities e.g listing creation to your eBay account for listing under your eBay ID.

Does that help a bit Smile
Hi Community,

The Auctiva store is not necessarily a replacement for your eBay store, so you certainly may want to continue with your eBay Stores subscription even though your now have an Auctiva store. Your Auctiva store is a customizable storefront that displays all of your active eBay listings at any given time, and can be reached by clicking the link on the bottom-right of your scrolling gallery,

While your eBay store also displays all of your active eBay listings at any given time, it can be reached by the “Visit My Store” link that eBay places in your auctions and, most importantly, even if you have an Auctiva store, an eBay store is still required to post “store item” format listings, which are “Buy it Now” only, entail extended listing durations, and are charged according to the eBay Stores fee structure.

If you have any additional questions or concerns, please file a support request using the appropriate link on our help page: http://www.auctiva.com/free-auction-software-help/help.aspx

Hi Mike D, I find the Auctiva customisable storefront very good especially as it eliminates the need for eBay gallery pics and the associated fees when only using eBay's 'store front'.

You say above that "The Auctiva store is not necessarily a replacement for your eBay store" but as I understand it the Auctiva store cannot be an replacement because you do not provide the 'venue' aspect, so therefore it is not standalone.

Please correct me if I have mis-understood. Smile
