That's correct. All revisions to active listings must be done directly through eBay's "Revise Item" form.

Look for our revision functions in our phase II release, scheduled for May 2006.

Go to the saved listing and make changes then get the html. Then revise in ebay and replace the description with the new html.

Thanks anyway! I did it, but.... since I am inept with html it did not work. I lost all pics except the one and lost the template. Shoot! I know I missed a step didn't I? When I picked up the html in Auctiva I clicked on the html, then just copied entire thing; ya know I thought it was really short. OHHHH us newbie!!!

Thanks for this insight, but one question:
What is the best source to "grab" this HTML code, since most pages where we can view our ads will have a bunch of other code (headers, links, etc) that fall outside the bounds of the ad body itself?

For instance, if I'm viewing my current ad on eBay or in Auctiva's preview, the HTML will include the Description, Time Listed, Time Left, Bids, Winning Bidder, etc.... If I paste this into the ad description, the ad body will be all messed up.
Does this make sense? So how can I isolate the ad itself on an Internet Explorer screen in order to copy the HTML (by clicking "View Source")?

In Auctiva go to saved listings, check mark the listing you want, then click on "get html" near the top of the page.

I think the "GET HTML" link is broke. I have just sent a request to the help desk about this.

But waswondering if its something I am doing wrong.

Here is what I am trying to do, and what happens when I do it.


I am trying to relist a closed ebay sale that did not receive any bids. I know I have to revise it through ebay. But before I revise it through ebay I want to change some of the details.

I edited the original saved listing in auctiva, changed the format to buy it now, changed the template and price, and re-saved it as NEW SAVE.

Now I need the new HTML format so that I can enter ebay, and revise the closed listing with the new format.

I click on the tab next to the NEW saved listing in auctiva, click on the " GET HTML " button and nothing happens ???

The page refeshes, but it takes me back to the same page I was viewing.

I am doing something wrong ? or is there a bug / error in this section. Is anyone else having this problem ?

Do you have a pop-up blocker. If so hold down Ctrl while clicking on get html.

Thanks for trying to help me. I just tried your suggestion, but nothing happened.

I also tried to get the HTML for several of my old saved listings, just to see if it was this new one that was giving me the problem, or if it was a general wide problem.

The get html buton will not retrieve any of my saved ads ?

I do have norton security set up, but it it set to allow anything to do with auctiva.

can you check and see if it is working for you ok ?

Mine is working. Try closing all Norton programs.

I do not want to close my norton set up, it should work without having to shut this down.

Closing Norton is one of the first troubleshooting steps used by any legitimate repair shop. I have seen Norton cause more problems than it solves.

Have you installed anything new? You can also try using a different browser and see if it works.

I just tried to get the html using netscape and it didn't work, so I switched off mynorton for 5 mins and tried again with netscape and it worked !

so, norton is causing the html pop up not to show, it must be blocking it.

do you know how I can add this part to norton to allow it to show up everytime, without switching norton off everytime i want to access this part of auctiva.

By the way, thanks for the help, I was scared to switch norton off, but glad I took your advice, at least now I can pinpoint what the problem is.

Every one has their own preferences but take it from a computer geek with many years of experience and disable Norton and use the disk for skeet shooting. If you try to uninstall it you can end up with many other problems. If you still wish to use it see if this link helps:

Thanks for the link. I have had this norton setup for just under a yr now, ready for renewal !

But, I am nervous to have no protection on my pc. The last PC I had was so badly infected with adware, spyware from adding gator, that I ended up throwing it away.

So, I bought this new pc and it was pretty expensive ! so I am nervous to have any Crapola get in it.

I filed a case, but its so annoying when its such a good week to sell on ebay, and it you take ages " going round and round in circles" trying to get a simple auction listed. sigh....

seems that if its not one thing at auctiva lately going haywire its another.

I wholeheartedly agree, HG. Norton was just an expensive lesson for me...and time consuming. Same with McAfee. I get along great with C.A.'s eTrust Suite, which my ISP gives us for free.

Now, a lot of geeks that I talk to swear by the free anti-virus "AVG Free Edition 7.1.371" ...what's your take on that? Would it be something that Carol and others on here might benefit from?
