Mike, I was attempting to have the auctiva scrolling window apear at the bottom of my listing however what happened when my listing became active was all the information I copied and pasted showed up in the listing. When I noticed it, I revised the listing through eBay and cut all the HTML info. I still can't figure out how to get the scrolling window at the bottom of my listing. He He, just think Mike, if it werent for idiots like me, you would be board to death. Thanks for all your help each time I ask questions!! I appreciate knowing your a question away!! T.J.
tj, you will need to get the html code for the window to put in the listing to place it where you want. If you list thru Ebay or Turbolister, it will automatically be added to the bottom of your ad if you have it active. You will also have the heading bar with the "Seller added the following on xx date" before you see the window. Some do not like to have that info so they add the code themselves.

What it sounds like you did, is copy and paste the html without actually changing the editor first.

In ebay -When you get to the item description it will have 2 tabs. One is standard and the other is the enter your own html. You will need to click the html tab then paste the coding. When you go to preview you will see the final result.

In Auctiva - In the item description, there will be a button on the top left corner of the editor called source. Click it and paste your html coding, then click the source button again and you will see the final result. This will be just the description only, it does not include any templates or tags. You will need to create a custom template for those things.

The items have to be changed on Ebay and it involves working with the code if you need to change description area. Here is my work around to save time.

I have FrontPage installed on my PC, but any HTML editor will do fine. There are some free ones on the web but I have no experience with them. There were some postings on the Custom Template discussions here that had links. Maybe you can take a look at those.

Go to Ebay and to the item you need to change the description. When you get to the box where the description html is use your mouse right click. Choose "Select All" and copy (do not cut). Open a window on the code view of the html page and select all if any basic code appears. Replace it with the html you copied from the revise your listing page on Ebay. Now make your changes. Please note you can remove pictures but is complicated to add new ones. More on how to do that next. Now, preview your new description. If it's ok just save and follow through till the the end on Ebay making any other adjustments if necessary. That is it for making changes to description.

You can add pictures through Auctiva, which is a fantastic feature. Go to Listings, Active Listings and you will see that choice right there. I used it and it works great.

That's it. Just remember to update or correct the saved listing too in case you need it again, because it will not be saved in Auctiva.

Best of luck,

Vera
