I thought ebays page not responding was annoying, but I can honestly say this site is worse. After an afternoon of looking at the error screen the system has just deleted all 25 listings I created to upload. Thank you auctiva, I shall go back to turbolister. The error screen has been coming up for loading images, saving edited listings, even just viewing saved listings - and after one such error all 25 went.

Or if you prefer:
Description: An application error occurred on the server. The current custom error settings for this application prevent the details of the application error from being viewed remotely (for security reasons). It could, however, be viewed by browsers running on the local server machine.

Details: To enable the details of this specific error message to be viewable on remote machines, please create a <customErrors> tag within a "web.config" configuration file located in the root directory of the current web application. This <customErrors> tag should then have its "mode" attribute set to "Off".

<!-- Web.Config Configuration File -->

<configuration>
<system.web>
<customErrors mode="Off"/>
</system.web>
</configuration>

Notes: The current error page you are seeing can be replaced by a custom error page by modifying the "defaultRedirect" attribute of the application's <customErrors> configuration tag to point to a custom error page URL.

<!-- Web.Config Configuration File -->

<configuration>
<system.web>
<customErrors mode="RemoteOnly" defaultRedirect="mycustompage.htm"/>
</system.web>
</configuration>
Gaby when you first posted you made it sound like you were also having problems with eBay. There also were no wide spread complaints yet and you stated you had the problem all afternoon. That is why I suggested it “might” be on your end. Sounds like you tried some troubleshooting methods and they failed. I believe someone from Auctiva really needs to post.
Thanks...I know I really like Auctiva and I don't plan on changing BUT dog gone it everytime I go through the whole process to list something it won't I will take a break for now before I blow a gasket!! hey Bubba I see yur from Seattle..I am from Olympia!!!!! Thought with the snow this would be a good time to list also!!!!
Please note...I'm not blaming Auctiva, not at all, I really just need to vent. Isn't that what some of these message boards are for? Really, talking to each other--all in the same boat--does help. So, Auctiva people, please be patient with us, as well. I for one need to vent when I encounter problems.

Thanks everyone for listening!! Smile
I can understand you saying it is an internet issue. BUT---I am listing things right this very moment, I hit Post, and get "An error has occurred" yadda yadda. I hit back, same effect. I hit save again, and it might work on the second or third try. I try to sign in on different browsers, and am getting "an error has occurred". Dumping cookies isn't helping. I'm not totally convinced this is an internet issue.
This is NOT a server issue. A server is either up and running or it's not.

Auctiva Message Board Administrator: What is your IT guy telling you? Apparently two or more features of your program are not functioning properly. Look, stuff happens - but what is Auctiva doing to alleviate the problem at this moment?

Considering this is the last Saturday we can list on Ebay before the big holiday crush is on, you're leaving us in the dark on one of Ebay's peak volume listing days during one of the year's busiest shopping weeks. I think we all deserve real answers.
Thanks
The Auctiva site and server are "up", but that doesn't necessarily mean that it is working...

I just tried for 2 hours to get 5 listings out and they totally vanished! Not on eBay and not anywhere in Auctiva. This is too painful. It must be worth a few bucks to use a real auction management site that functions and has capable QA/Support.
Smile Just a thought for the Auctiva 'suggestion'box...

If it were possible, I think it would be wonderful if there could be an autosave feature, ala gmail. When I write an email in gmail, it automatically saves itself every minute - if I get bumped, what I was working on gets transferred to my 'drafts' folder.

I think this would be beneficial for both Auctiva and sellers like myself - during this 'internet issue', how many sellers, both old and new, will leave over the fact their carefully created listings were 'eaten' or lost? I think the majority of us are upset because of our work vanishing, not so much the other things. If the semi-completed listings were autosaved to a draft folder, we would be more likely to pick up where we left off, rather than leave auctiva.

Something interesting happened with my DSL about 11:00 Saturday night. Like many of you, I was frustrated Saturday in having my listing information repeatedly dumped while using Auctiva's various posting functions. Administrator Tom was insisting it was not an Auctiva problem, but a routing problem with DSL. I'll be the first to admit, I thought he was the King of de Nile. Now I don't think so.

At about 11:00 my MSN mailbox, Ebay, and Auctiva were each open. Suddenly, they were all wiped from my screen, and I noticed that my internet connection had broken. I immediately logged back onto the internet, and found that I now had no problem in using Auctiva.

My apologies to Administrator Tom. You were correct in your assessment, and I gave you a hard time.

Agreed. The 50 or 100 customer that read this thread will understand it's not our fault or something we have control over. The other 2500 people are just going to think we're unreliable and go elsewhere. Then 2 month from now they'll be in the message boards here posting how we were down for xyz amount of time. It's stupid problems like that are remembered, not the cause. Very frustrating.

Tom, I appreciate your help here but this IS an Auctiva problem. I'm not exactly sure what you mean by an "Internet" problem...

I can get to all other internet sites I've tried, but Auctiva is giving me the "server" error mentioned above, as well as an Auctiva screen that says that there was an error.

Sometimes it works momentarily, but the moment I go to put a picture in an ad, or save an ad... error.

I understand that there are several thousand people using this service but they are not all using it at one time, and it cannot be a coincidence that this is happening to several people here.

Perhaps your servers can't handle the number of people that are trying to list this weekend... or last weekend, for that matter.
I've tried to post my listing of "Earl Carroll's Hollywood in "Entertainment/Movies/Programs" on Ebay. I made 2 attempts, the 2nd of which is now deleted. The 1st listing is still active.

My item does not show up anywhere, even when I do an Ebay Search under "All Categories". However, when I click on the Auctiva link to the item, my post does show up on Ebay - but anyone doing a Search will not be able to view or find it. Any idea what's wrong?
