I have just noticed that when I add a photo instead of the two I normally get a Header and one other, I now get a gallery photo and when I try to take it off another pop up says I must take the Header off first, my question is this, do I have to pay for the extra gallery picture to ebay or is it free like the others, because when I did take them off I only had one picture and not the two I normally have free.

There is a recent change to ebay requirements that Gallery must be the same photo as the Header (other). The change dates back to about February 20, when they began offering free Gallery.

I believe it's because ebay now stores the header and gallery photo, and your one free photo with them literally means ONE for both.

Auctiva was going to make some changes to the one-page lister to move back to a single photo and/or force it back. That's possibly what you're seeing after yesterday's new release.

I am encountering the same issue. When you stated that the issue has been resolved, I'm not sure I understand.

When I have a header photo in there and it forces me to put in a gallery photo (same photo as the header which is fine with me), it automatically check marks "Gallery" under additional options.

Does this mean I will be charged additionally for the Gallery Image? I did notice that when eBay began the Free Gallery for listings and I did not remove the the Gallery check mark under options and the Gallery photo, it still charged me the additional 35 cents anyway.

Also, does this mean that we do have to pay for each additional photo beyond the first one?

I still have this same issue.... is everyone else experiencing this? Hope to get a response before I launch my auctions in a few days.

Thanks!
Hi Mike or Danno, sorry but the issue has not been resolved, I have just tried to post two listings and I have an error message 'ebay header and gallery photo must be the same,' I don't want a gallery photo just the header and one other photo but I am not allowed to do this so this means I have to post my listings without any header which makes my listings look bad as there is just a gap where the header picture used to go. Can you do anything about this?

Hi Minx41,

I'm a little confused on exactly what you are doing in the one-page lister.

The one-page has the array of photos you can insert in the Description section (1 - 24 available). To the right of that area, there are selections for the Header and the Gallery. The Header and Gallery must now be the same image. You can chose Header and no Gallery, but I don't believe you can chose Gallery and no Header. If the Header is different than one of the 1-24 images (to left), you use CUSTOM and select another image in your image liberay.

If I understand what you want, you need to select one image from your library for image #1, and use CUSTOM to select the Header and Gallery (same image). I'm guessing that's the two images you are referencing in your post, and what you are attempting to do.

If that's not working, there is a real problem.

Danno, I select no.1 from the pictures 1-24 and a header picture comes up automatically as it always did before with no gallery picture this time but when I try to post to ebay I get the error message 'the header and gallery picture must be the same image' But I don't want the gallery picture, but it won't let me post without it unless I delete the header photo which will leave an unsightly gap in the listing. Any ideas? I've never had a problem with the photo's until now.
If you don't have Gallery or Gallery Plus selected, it is IMO a listing error that doesn't make sense. You shouldn't have to select a picture for Gallery unless one of those is checked.

If you select both a identical Gallery and Header, and do ERROR CHECK, are you getting any error from the lister? If you check Fees on the Lister, are you showing any Fee for Gallery? If not, it simply may be a bug on the lister with no impact to fee. I would enter a Support Case to let Auctiva know you're getting the error.

If you submit the listing without selecting Gallery or Gallery Plus in the Marketing Tools, you shouldn't get a fee for Gallery and none (no gallery picture) should appear on the listing. That might be the temporary work-around until they can fix the lister.

Is anyone at Auctiva aware of the error and working on a fix?

Danno I have just found out what the problem was, in the maximize box for Marketing tools the gallery box was ticked, now I NEVER use that option so I am wondering if when ebay changed the rules about using the same photo for gallery and header was that box ticked by default, in any case I will now definitely check every time I list just in case, but I can't understand how that happened, but thanks for your input anyway Smile
