I am a bit confused about how to edit my own general preferences (I think this is what it causing my confusion, but am not sure if this is what it is called.) to be real clear, I am not talking about profiles here and do not think I have ever edited or created a template so this does not appear to be relevant.

When I post items, several text items only are automaticaly filled in for me at the bottom of each listing, like Terms of sales etc.

It seems to happen no matter how I create a listing, whether using existing as a guide or starting a new post totally from scratch.

I don't dislike what is there, really do not want to get rid of it,am going to continue to use it anyway. At some point I remember typing it all in, but cannot find it to edit it again.

My confusion is I cannot seem to figure out how to access it to edit it without editing every listing manually as I create it, and I don't think that works anyway.

Again, I have checked every single drop down menu item on the Auctiva site on every page, including profiles and can't find where this text is coming from.

You can see what I mean by looking at my item number 190139125482. Every thing starting with Terms of Sales and the red star is put in each listing automatically for me and I just cannot figure out how to edit it.

Any suggestions? (I thank you in advance for your response).

Hi, just looked at your listing perhaps you can expand a little.

1) If you are not using a template are you an HTML guru.

2) I do not believe anything is already filled in for you.

3) If you are using a template the text you may want to edit could be under "sellers details"

And as a side suggestion I think it is better to put the scrolling gallery under the listing. A buyer may drift off somewhere else and not actually stay at one listing long enough to say great I want it and bid, best let them read and bid for this one and move on to bid for another.

Thanks for replying. I see your posts all the time and have benefited from them greatly over the past several months.

In answer to your questions-

1) If you are not using a template are you an HTML guru. - (answer)I use the pre-made Auctiva templates and have not to my knowledge ever edited them. Yes, I am very good with HTML etc., but , haven't felt the need to edit a pre-made template yet.

2) I do not believe anything is already filled in for you.- (answer) Maybe filled in is the wrong terminology. All the text after and including "Terms of sales" and the star that goes with it comes up on my listing with out me ever typing it in. So whether filled in (as in autofill like on a form) or filled out (as in pre-existing type added to the listing without having to type it in) it is there and I only typed it once long ago. I do not want to get rid of it, but is is stored somewhere and I would like to edit it. This is what I am at a loss to figure out. Can't find it to edit it.

3) If you are using a template the text you may want to edit could be under "sellers details"- Is this part of a profile? I have looked there and do not see it to edit.

Thankx for the advice about the scrolling store gallery. I think I changed that in my settings after my current round of auctions were posted, think I read this in another forum somewhere. My understanding is there is no way to change it on exisiting auctions. Correct?

Once again , I ppreciate your response , interest and the help you've given here and in the past without even knowing it.

Have a great day- answrtek

PS- I looked at seller details and it comes up blank, with nothing in it?
Hi, thanks, happy to help where I can Smile

The sellers details is something you can call into your listing if you have used an Auctiva or customised Auctiva template.

The pre-filled words you describe sound like the section headings under which seller details pages are entered if you have supplied text for them.

I use a simple customised template and leave all headings in place and only those I currently have text for actually appear with thier associated text.

The positions of the seller detail sections are set when editing the template.

Seller details is found on the profiles page, create with care as it is easy to overwrite an existing one when saving in a hurry. You are given an edit window for each section in turn. When completed and saved you can select the sellers details when creating your listing and the text fields are inserted in the chosen position as set up in the template you are using.

Re - moving the SG on a live listing. With the configuration of your scrolling gallery set where you want via the SG editor, copy the HTML for it onto your clipbaord.

Edit the live item via eBay's revise item, and in the HTML editor delete the existing SG code and replace with the code on your clipboard. You may be able to see how to just tweak the HTML but it does seem easy to break judging by other posts. Not advisable when a listing has only a short time to go. Smile
