How Do I Revise Store Listings

I want to make some changes to my eBay store listings and was wondering if anyone has a simple solution.

I set up my store listings as GTC and I do not use the Auctiva auto relist feature because eBay will automatically relist my store items every 30 days, if my store item doesn’t sell.

When I make changes to my store listings, I make the changes in Auctiva and then schedule Auctiva to post the revised listing into EBay. Then I must go to my eBay store and find the old store listing and then cancel the old store listing from eBay. This is a pain to do, plus you loose all of the buyers that are watching your old store listing if you cancel the listing, As far as I know eBay will not allow you to change a store listing duration from GTC to 30 days after the listing is posted in eBay.

Does anyone have a better idea of how to revise store listings or how to set up the listing in Auctiva to start with so the listing will be easy to revise later?

Not quite sure I know what you are asking here. Are you referring to changing the format or just making some word changes in your listing?

We have our live listing revision tool you can use for word changes.

If you can be more specific we can perhaps answer more completely.

Normally I only change words and not formatting.

Where can I find the live listing revision tool?

I understand after Auctiva posts the listing to ebay, I can go to ebay and make any needed revisions in eBay. The problem I found doing this way is it is difficult to remember to also make the exact same changes in my Auctiva saved listing folder so that my listing stay the same in both Auctiva and eBay. I found the is less of a chance for error if I make the needed revisions in Auctiva first, then post the revised listing from Auctiva to ebay, then cancell the old ebay listing. This is alot of work. Is there a better way to make the revisions than the above way?

Hope this helps and is what you are asking. . .

The revision tool is in the active or live listings, there is drop down box that says DESCRIPTION click it and new window will show up. There should be 2 boxes. You need to put exact sentence or sentences you want removed in the top box. If you want nothing put in its place you leave 2nd box blank. If you want something to replace what you took out you will need to put that in second box. (IF, it does not work do not drive yourself nuts - as mine did not work on a recent change ebay had us make and I had to change 1500 listings manually.) I just do not want you spending hours trying to make it work like I did and waste your time.

Please remember. . . if you change ACTIVE listings they will change on ebay, however, it does not change your original saved template. It will only make the ebay live listing.

so you still have to go in and change twice if you want your original template updated.

Vickie in her reply to you gave you the same answer I would have...e.g. use the live listing revision tool to update the eBay listing and then update your saved listing on Auctiva with the same information. As she said, currently you do have to do it twice.

I'm working with our software engineers to see if we can do something in a future release that will allow updating both live listings on eBay and equivalent saved listing on Auctiva at the same time. Several people are asking for that.

Tony hope I did not overstep bounds by responding to something you were in middle of. I responded because I figured you are looking at LOTS of issues and it could be awhile before you got back to this. I figured she could get on with the getting on if she had a little help.

I do hope this will be done in future release as most people who want change want done to both.
