Hello, I have not been selling/listing on Ebay for over a year now, but I've kept up with my Auctiva/Ebay fees. I pay them each month. I just haven't listed anything new due to things going on in my life and things that have happened throughout the past over a year or so. Anyhow, as I said, I pay my Auctiva each month, never an issue. However, today, when logging in to go list a couple of things, I get this message: We noticed that your Paypal Billing Agreement has been canceled. To avoid problems with your monthly bill, please set up a new valid Paypal Billing Agreement or place a credit card on file by clicking here. Your PayPal Billing Agreement has been canceled. Please set up a new Billing Agreement or put a card on file for monthly billing.

And the thing is, I don't want *automatic* payments. I want to pay monthly through my pay pal as I've been doing. Can someone please tell me what I need to do to keep it the way I've been doing it? Please let me know. I need to know if I can list before settling this. I need to get this done asap. Thank you very much. Lisa

Hi lmrntx,

Thanks for contributing to our forum. Our system is set up such that all users must have an automatic payment method on file in order to use a paid subscription plan. However, if you would like to prevent your automatic payment method from being charged, you can always make a manual payment for your outstanding fees each month before your automatic billing date.

As the warning you mentioned indicates, in order to prevent this message from continuing to be displayed within your account, you will need to create a new Paypal billing agreement or place a credit card on file which can be used for automatic monthly payments.

If you mouse over the "My Account" tab within your account and select the "My Payment Method" option, you will find the option to do either of these things on the ensuing page.

I hope this clears things up. If you need any further assistance with your account, please feel free to contact our Customer Support team by mousing over the "My Account" tab within your account and selecting the "File Support Case" option.

So do I just add my credit card info on the Pay Pal thing when I click the pay pal button? I'm sorry, I've been out of the loop for well over a year now. Also, upon trying to relist one of my items, it's saying I have my email address in the description, however, I don't. I have a 'contact' me link but it's been so long since I've done a listing that I am not completely positive that's what they're talking about. They say the email 'shows' in my description, however it doesn't. When I created this listing many moons ago, what I did was used the 'contact me' link from Ebay to place into my listings here if I remember correctly. Can you also help me with that? Thank you so very much for helping me and for taking the time to answer me. Hopefully I'll get back in the swing of things again and hopefully without any issues from Auctiva.
Hi lmrntx,

After visiting the Payment Method page within your Auctiva account by mousing over the "My Account" tab and selecting the "My Payment Method" option, the process you use to update the automatic payment method on file with your account will depend on whether you would like to create a new Paypal billing agreement or use a credit card as your automatic payment method.

From there, if you would like to create a new Paypal billing agreement for use as your automatic payment method, just click the "Edit my Paypal Billing Agreement" button at the bottom of the page and proceed as directed.

On the other hand, if you would prefer to place a Visa or Mastercard on file instead, you will just need to click the "Edit my Credit Card Information" button on that page, enter the details of the credit card you would like to use and then click the "Save Settings" button.

Also, I noticed that you posted a new thread about the listing error you encountered and I replied to that thread with some additional information a moment ago.

Hi Mike, If you could 'bold' your text, that would help me greatly. I'm legally blind and I've also got very bad cataracts. Now, ok, here's one of my issues with the auto payment thing. I am on a monthly income and at the very end of the month and into the beginning of the new month, I'm always very low on funds. Therefore, I have to watch my account carefully. I also always pay my bill on the 3rd of each month. When I get paid. I don't do autopayments to anything due to this issue for fear I'll have my bank account in negative which things like this have done that before. So what do you suggest I do? And when's the billing date or 'due' date? Thank you kindly for your help. I hope my listings go well today or you'll hear from me later for any help.
Hi lmrntx,

We will send you an invoice for your subscription fees during the first week of each month (typically on the first business day) and will then charge your automatic payment method for any remaining balance that is due 3 days later. Each invoice you receive will state the specific date on which your automatic payment method is scheduled to be charged.

If the amount owed listed on your invoice has been paid by the scheduled automatic billing date, your automatic payment method will not be charged. Therefore, if you were to make a manual payment for balance due when you get paid on the 3rd of each month, it should not be necessary to charge your automatic payment method.

You could also potentially make larger deposits into your account periodically that are sufficient to cover more than one month of fees. If you were to deposit some funds into your account in excess of any balance owed, your subscription fees for each month would just be automatically deducted from your prepaid balance until it runs out.

Finally, you could consider purchasing a prepaid annual plan (1, 2 or 3 years) so you do not have to worry about making payments to your account nearly as often. If you mouse over the "My Account" tab within your account, select the "Change Plan" option and click the "Choose" button under the desired plan, you will see the prepaid options associated for that plan on the ensuing page.

If you were to purchase a prepaid version of the plan which best meets your needs, you would also save anywhere from 16% to 25% (depending on the number of years) compared to using the monthly version of that plan for the same period of time.
