items not moving to selected folders

I have made two folders (sold and unsold). I want to move the auction listings in my "closed" folder to one of these two created folders. I clicked them and sent them to the appropriate folder.
Now in the "closed" folder they are color coded either red or green and say "sold folder" or "unsold folder" in the line description.
HOwever, when I go to "folders" and click on one of the two created, they say no saved listings are in those folders.
I have closed and opened browser, signed out and back in, cleared caches, made sure there were no filters, etc and still don't show up in the appropriate folder, but they do show up still in closed with the color coding and correct folder listed.
Any help would be appreciated...
