Listing can't be found on eBay after editing

Hi, I listed 3 items tonight. Had to nip in and edit some small changes into 2 of them. The unedited item showed up on eBay straight away, but now (an hour and a half later) there is still no sign of my other 2 items. I have been using the "Time: newly listed" search option. Would this be what is called an indexng problem? If so, why was my first item listed so quickly, and why does a simple edit prevent the other 2 from showing for such a long time? Grrr.

Hi Linda - The normal delay due to indexing is 6 hours. It is my understanding that if you revise a listing before it is indexed that will reset the process on that listing(i.e. the 6 hours starts again from when it was revised). Best to wait until it shows up in search, then revise it.

And much longer if the item is in a vetted category, one where fraud is rife. It would appear that your unedited one must have caught the index 'bus' straight away but the other two had to wait for the next one to come along.

Personally I think if I needed to revise a listing in the indexing queue I would just access it from 'active listings' and edit it right away rather than potentially add another full 6 hours of invisibilty to searches.

Apparently eBay was pretty quick at indexing many moons ago

Hmm, I did do this actually -- revised my listings on Auctiva. I want to try to avoid having to do this from now on but it seems to be the only way to add the "other" payment option to the checkout, if I want cash on collection.

I will check in the morning, hope things are sorted by then. Thanks.
