Mad Confused FrownI have been trying to use Auctiva for several months now and glad I don't hve to pay for it or I would have cancelled a long time ago. Every time I click on anything to go from one place to another my browser Internet explorer shows (Not Responding) and I have to wait way to long before the page shows up. This is taking away my time for listing. Plus to revise a listing there should be a waay to revise from Auctiva not Ebay, because if you want to add a photo then you have to open it up in another browser copy and paste on Ebays pages. Mainly photos.
also the thing with the insurance is very confusing why do I have to put oney into that account for my customers to use it and they say that I have earned it and where does that money go. Is that what is calculated in the Auctiva check put?
Another problem is the transactions page you can't mark an ad as being paid I get the red bar at the top saying error and won't let me mannually change it to being paid.
Is there a special trick in using this these different functions? I really need help with this so that I can get my listings listed so that I can make some money.
Anybody got any suggestions out there and how to correct these problems or suggestions? I would greatli appreciate it very much. Time Is Money here and we need some one to find out where these cliches area coming from and how to fix them.

Hi,I'm fairly new but I can try to answer a couple of your questions.

The slow response with IE, I'm not a fan of IE cause I"ve just encountered too manyproblems with it. You might want to use a different browser, like mozilla firefox,or Opera. I use both and highly recommend either. Firefox is probably the easiest to learn.

next, revising. I came here from a paying site where we still had to revise thru ebay. someone will correct me if i'm wrong, but I think that is standard with listing services.

I don't use auctiva's insurance or checkout so I can't help you there,sorry.
dunno why your IE is responding so slowly. only reason i can think of is cache needs to be cleared, your machine is bogged down with spyware, or your machine got infected and is now a zombie and clicking ads, etc in background (thus earning $ for the zombie master).

You'd be amazed how many machines out there are full of spyware and/or have been made into zombies Frown

IE has been working fine for me on auctiva, and i'm on dialup.

try clearing your cache and scanning your machine with the various anti-spyware and antivirus tools in my sig area (after you download them, update them before scanning). SpyBot S&D, AVG, and eWido are all great tools and free Smile
Mad Same thing here! I'm on IE also and it did get very slow on the Auctiva website. I even did my spyware/adware, reg clean, etc. and nothing worked. After it sped up, I got the "not responding" crap. After thinking all was well and was able to put about 12 auctions on (took 6 hrs!) I am now having to log back in after every click of my mouse! I guess I'll quit for the night and try again tomorrow.
Good luck!
I just had my computer come to a grinding halt, but it wasnt just auctiva, it was everything.

problem wasn't that my IE cache was full. And not sure what the exact problem was, just that a reboot fixed it Smile

another thing that can slow your computer down - if your hard drive is getting full. windows needs part of your hard drive to use as virtual RAM (because the RAM your computer has isnt enough - so it uses part of your hard drive as extra RAM). If your hard drive is getting full, that file that windows uses will get full, which in turn means that windows and every program on your computer will start coughing and choking.

So, if your whole puter is choking, reboot and/or check how much free space you have on hard drive.

not saying that's the problem, just tossing some ideas out there Wink
couple of other things you can do - if the listing that you used the pic is isnt running anymore and they merely linked to your pic (rather than saving it somewhere else on net) can delete it or replace it with a pic of something else (such as "a pile of poo", text saying "picture thief", etc). Other option (only option if they copied it and saved it somewhere else on net) is to report them to ebay for image theft.

Now, how do I free up RAM or get more? You're dealing with a totally non-technical person. I just know how to run the adware/spyware, reg scrub, clean up, etc. programs.

Again, thanks!

to get more physical RAM you have to install a RAM card on your motherboard. to get more virtual RAM (which is what you probably are wanting to do), is check your hard drive space and delete things that you dont use/need.

to check hard drive space in windows - open "my computer" single-click the drive labeled (CSmile On the bottom of the left hand side of the window it will tell you how much free space you have. If it's extremely low, then you'll have a problem.

To free up some space, there's a few different things you can do. The easiest (and the one that is least likely to cause problems) is to go into Control Panel, open Add/Remove Programs, and remove things you installed a long time ago but never use.

Be very careful about browsing your hard drive and deleting files and file folders yourself (instead let windows do the deletions using the control panel like i mentioned above). Reason why is that if you delete the wrong thing, you can make windows no longer work! (boss at place i used to work did that and had to call me into his office to fix it - laf!)

If you get to wondering about whether or not the amount of free space on your hard drive is enough and whether or not you truly need to delete anything, post here with how much free space you have.

BTW, the auctiva going really slow thing finally hit me last night. I went into the lister and it took something like 5 mins or so for the page to open! Eek Everything else (puter and other sites) was working fine at the time. dont remember what time it was when it happened, but was probably pretty late in the evening.

hope this helps
98.9 gb is plenty of free space - no worries there! Smile

welcome for the help, looks like I havent been much help though. Frown

I'd say your problem is either auctiva or a bottleneck in your 'net connection. Sometimes my ISP gets "stuck" and has hiccups, etc. So it could very well be that.

If only auctiva is being affected, then it's auctiva. if all internet is being affected (and not just IE, but also any other program that connects such as IM programs and Outlook) but other non-internet programs on computer are working, then it's your ISP. If entire computer is choking, then it's windows needing attention (reboot, etc). If IE is starting to choke regardless of where you go (ie: not showing images any more), then clear cache and reboot.
