Hi Kevin,

I am talking about the description editor, where you attach your pictures and post. I do not use the design template editor. It is the description editor that is not wrapping the words correctly to the next line.

Although, I do have my PC screen set at 800 x 600, so I don't know if this makes any difference, it didn't before you made the changes. It worked fine before the changes.

Carol.
Can we have the option to use the old editor ?

I think this new editor needs to go back to beta test mode again. I thought after last weekend you would have made sure that it was working ok before launching it again live ??

I can't understand why you would put it live again, then ask everyone to test it ? and let you know the problems. Surely this is what the beta test site is for, not the live site. It really does not make sense.
We tested it internally, then on our beta site with some user input, and finally it went live.

You must understand that web technology, especially browsers, are all a bunch of interpretations and hacks built upon old buggy code and more hacks. Browsers do crazy weird things on some people's machines, while on others they work just fine.

From what we can tell the new editor is working for about 95%+ of the user base we have. That isn't bad, considering the old browser probably worked for 90%+ and had its own little quirks.

The reason we ask people on these forums for their input isn't so the editor can be tested for the first time. It is so we can address the issues that come up for a minority of users. Issues that we can't reproduce internally and that need specific, sometimes very creative, workarounds.
Also we can't test for every software configuration out there.

There are browser types (IE, Firefox, Netscape, Safari, etc...), then specific versions of each type, then add-ons like ZoneAlarm, virus scanners, popup blockers, then seemingly non-related apps that mess with your web setup, then individual user preferences you set in your browser and your 3rd party tools.... the list goes on.

We try to make things as generic as we can so those differences in your setup won't break stuff, but we can only do so much.

So we'll keep fixing issues that get reported. Don't be shy, tell us what isn't working for you and help us to help you. But expecting 100% compatability from a website is a pipe-dream. No site out there can do it.
"the new editor has made Auctiva un-usable for me. All my descriptions in saved ads have disappeared. There are hundreds of them, and all that I checked (not all of them of course) are GONE."

"They aren't actually gone. They still exist in the database but they aren't being displayed to you. Please, anybody having this issue do not save over your ad. The descriptions STILL EXIST, but it is a display issue.

If you are having this problem, can you:
1) Clear your cache
2) Close all browser windows
3) Go to http://www.auctiva.com and look at your saved listings"

MINE ARE disappearing & staying GONE. Have re-typed the same little auction 3 times. They only show up as a blanl untitled auction.

What browser are you using?

If the description is messed up before you save, then yes it will be gone. If you actually saved listings earlier but now they look messed up, just don't re-save them until we can address your issue.
None of my descriptions are showing up when I try to edit a saved listing. There is just a big empty area where the editor box used to be. I can, however, see the listings when I preview them from the 'saved listings' page.

I get the same thing when I try to create a new listing. I am unable to because there is no description editor. My browser (IE 5 version 6.0.2800.1106) keeps giving me an error message that the page is "done, but with errors".

Thank you for your suggestions.

I agree, it is not a longterm solution. It is however a workaround until we can work all of the bugs out of the new editor. I do appologize for the problems you are having and we will continue working on the editor until it works well enough for all of you to use it.
