I just realized (after posting WAY too many items over the past week or so) that the PayPal Account Required option in the payment & shipping area doesn't exist in Auctiva. I just had to go through and revise all of my auctions and store items that were done through Auctiva.

Is this going to be added anytime soon?

LovingMomTo5,

I assume you're talking about the setting eBay has for "Require Immediate Payment" which forces the buyer to have a PayPal account in order to purchase your item.

You can find this setting in the "Checkout Options" on the lister page.

Other than that, there is no way I know of to restrict your buyers to only paying with PayPal. You can make sure to not offer any other payment methods in your "Checkout Options" although I'm not sure that eBay will require the buyer to have PayPal.

Hi Kevin,

Thanks for your response. In the area that restricts buyers, there is an option to set that anyone who bids or buys must have a PayPal account. It doesn't mean that they have to pay that way, just that they must have an account to bid.

If you look at any one of my auctions, right under the bid amount, it says (PalPal Account Required).

eBay's thoughts when they set this up was that most NPB's don't have a PayPal account associated with their eBay account. I HAVE noticed a huge drop in NPB's since eBay started offering this option.

It is in the eBay Preferences, Buyer Requirements. It's the ONLY preference that is not automatically set when listing. It's in the same area as the option to not let bidders from countries you don't ship to bid, buyers who have 2 or more NPB's in the past 30 or 60 days, etc.

I really hate having to list through Auctiva and then immediately go to eBay and revise the item to set this option. I won't list without it anymore.

I hope this info helps. Let me know if there's anything else I can do to get this implemented in the Auctiva system. Thanks! Smile
Ahh, ok. I didn't see it as part of the listing process when I tried to post manually on eBay and that's why I couldn't find it.

Since this is an account setting on eBay, I'm surprised that posting through Auctiva is making a difference. Usually account settings don't need to be passed along with the info we send when posting an individual item.

I'll check this out and see what we can do.
