I've noticed on several of the listings that I've written today that the preview of the listing shows the description differently than it shows in the frame where you type in the description. For example, on one of the listings the preview shows the wording centered whereas it was typed (and still shows) the wording flush left. In another listing, after I looked at the preview the description frame changed the font to bold.

I'm especially concerned about the first example. If it loads to eBay with everything centered, it will look terrible!! I've checked the HTML and it doesn't show centered...

Anyone else experiencing this? Is there a fix? Will they load to eBay correctly?

Thanks!

Hi 2Purrcats,

When the formatting in the preview of your listing differs from what is displayed in the description editor, it is usually indicative that some non-supported formatting commands have been introduced into the editor from an external source, or that the template chose template has standard formatting that overrides those specified in the editor. I'm sure there are some other possible causes as well.

We would need to look at the specific listings you have having trouble with to diagnose what may be happening in your specific case so, if you are still experiencing this problem, I recommend contacting our customer support team using the appropriate link on our help page: http://www.auctiva.com/free-auction-software-help/help.aspx

Hi, Yes I have problems with my text being left justified or all centered. Either way is bad without appropriate spacing...but all centered is really hard to read. How do I get spaces in-between sentences and paragraphs. My template seems to have some sort of automatic formatting going on. I will try the link support entered on the post...but if someone has a fix for me, I'd appreciate it.
This happened to me when I first started using Auctiva a month ago. In my description box I center all my information with text, pictures, etc.
The workaround that I did was this.
I set up how I wanted it to look, then ctrl + A to highlight it all, then ctrl + c to copy. Then while highlighted I would hit backspace until everything was gone and cursor was at top left hand side of descriptor page.
Then I would hit ctrl + V and it would paste it all right back.
When I checked the preview it worked everytime.
Hope this helps Smile
Hi ronApp,
So...thanks for the idea, I did try it...I made it look the way I wanted, including all the spaces, etc. but your work-around didn't work for me. Although now everything is justified left at least, no more center stuff. But all the text is still all jammed up together...I can't get the spaces inbetween sentences, etc. Have you had this problem? And your work around did the trick with the spacing?
No, it never has happened to me. When I highlight everything (ctrl + A) I hit the center icon at the top of the page to make sure if anything is not centered it will be. Then I do ctrl + C and so forth.
I am afraid I do not know what else it could be. Have you tried a different font?
Just grasping at straws now.

I hate that my "workaround" didn't do it for you.. Confused
Auctiva's fix worked well...here is their email to me.

New Comment:

Hello,

I was able to review your seller details profile titled "Standard template" within your Auctiva account and it appears that the reason that your seller details are not correctly formatting is because when you entered the text into the different sections, you were in the "HTML" version rather the the "Standard" version of the editor. In order to correctly format your seller details you will need to revise them in the "Standard" version of the editor.

You can do this by going to "Profiles" -> "Manage Seller Details" and clicking the "Edit" tab next to your seller details profile. On the next page click the "Switch to: Standard" tab and you will see a toolbar appear within the editor signifying that you are no longer in the "HTML" version. Now you should be able to format your seller details within each of the different sections the way that you want them to appear and save your changes.

Moving forward from when you make this change, any new listings with your seller details selected to appear within them will display as you have indicated them while in the "Standard" version of the editor. Unfortunately because items #--------9246 and #-------6438 have received bids on them, according to eBay's policy on revising your items, you will not be able to correct the seller details profile appearing in them.

Please let me know if you have any further questions.

Thank you,
Auctiva Support
