Hi - Making changes in an active listing is pretty easy. If you want to change pictures within your template, or change the template itself, you can copy and paste the HTML from your revised listing in Auctiva to your active listing in eBay as follows:

1) Locate your listing in your Saved Listings folder in Auctiva, open it, make any necessary changes, preview, and save.
2) Check the box next to your revised listing in your Saved Listings folder and click the “Get HTML” button.
3) Select all of the HTML in the popup box and copy it.
4) Locate the item on eBay and click the "Revise your item" link.
5) Click "Edit Description" then click the "HTML" tab.
6) Select all of the HTML that's there, paste the copied HTML in its place, and save your changes.

Keep in mind that the copy & paste of HTML described above only applies to the template area. If you wish to revise items outside the template (title, category, price, etc.), you need to do that directly from the ebay "revise your listing" page. However, changes just to text within the template (description or seller details) can easily be done on that page as well, without the need to replace HTML.

Hope this helps. Smile

Actually I was referring to the eBay page. You can edit text (both description and seller details) in the "revise description" box. Alternatively, you can also edit the text of the description in your saved listing in Auctiva. That is efficient if you are going to replace the HTML anyway. HOWEVER, if you want to change seller details, it is a lot more trouble to do that from Auctiva compared to doing it in ebay, so if the changes are "permanent", to be applied to future postings as well, use Auctiva, if only a one-time change applied to the active listing, use ebay. IMHO.
Hi Beverle,

The instructiuons mentioned above by "ninth_wave" will work for adding images to the description your listing, and for updating any other information within the description section.

However, since the gallery image is not entered in the description section, an additional process is required to update your gallery image. In order to change the gallery image in an active listing, you can revise the item via the following process:

1) Visit the item on eBay.
3) Right click on the image you'd like to make your gallery image and click "Properties"
4) Copy the image URL...it begins with "http://..."
5) Click the "Revise your Item" link on the auction.
6) Click the “Add Pictures” button.
7) Delete the text in the “Gallery Picture URL” field and replace it with the copied URL.
7) Click “Insert Pictures” and then save your changes.

Mike,

I am trying to revise an active listing. When I click the "Get HTML" button, no box pops up. Thanks for your help! MZ
