Starting July 10th, Auctiva will begin auto-appending a free Sellathon hit counter to all listings for our users. No need to think about adding a counter to each listing again - let us do the work for you no matter which listing service you use.

The Sellathon counter not only tracks your hits, but it also doubles as another great marketing tool for your eBay business by adding a link to a gallery page containing all of your currently running eBay listings.

We will begin slowly turning on the auto-append service on July 10th. You don't have to do anything. If you wish not to have the Sellathon counter auto-appended to your listings, please visit your account settings page at http://www.auctiva.com/account/preference.aspx and change the Sellathon Counters setting under Listing Management to "No".

NOTE: You will be receiving an email with similiar information depending on if your current setting is set to "no" or "yes".

Hi, this is all very well but having the sellathon counter outside of a subscription shows stats that I do not want others to see.

At present I have the base susbcription and have made most stats private. However I am unlikey to want it continuously, whereupon all stats via the counter will default to public again on subs expiry. At which point the counter is a liability, what annoyed me was that I did not realise these stats were public until I saw it on another thread here.

Would you please make these stats private by default, as far as I know you have acquired Sellathon so you could do something about it if you wanted too.
I agree with those who find the ability for the public to see stats a problem. Also I found that clicking on the counter would show stats for long dead auctions.

When I started out using Auctiva, I used the counter in all my auctions. I found the Sellathon features useful during my free trial, but not enough for me to pay the fee to continue. Then when I saw the disadvantages noted here, I stopped using the counters.

This change is a solution in search of a problem. The reason people are not using the counters is not because it was difficult to put them in the auctions, it is because of the problems noted here. If it helps Auctiva to have people use the counters, fix the problems with the counters. I for one would happily go back to using the counters if these problems were fixed. I would also probably use the sellathon stats if they were cheaper. I am a small seller, sometimes with just a few hundred a month in sales, so adding $5 per month to my costs is too much for me.
For those of you who would like to use the Sellathon counter for hit count tracking purposes, but do no like the gallery data that is being displayed, you can file a Sellathon support case to request that information to be hidden.

I know many of you don't see an advantage for this new feature, but we do have many users who are using Auctiva for the free Store Window, but not actually posting with us. These users will now have the option of having a sellathon counter where they were not able to before.

As your account is expired, we will not honor any of your previous settings. If you wish to have access to these settings, you may purchase a membership."

I am afraid they do not seem to agree with you Kevin unless you guys have spoken to them since. Frown
Well Guys, I am a Very Small Time Seller, and I do not like the idea of pootential buyers seeing my stats in light of a BEST OFFER deal. All I know is the one time I tried to use Sellathon, I forgot whatever password I had set and I never could use the free trial. I used a counter when I used to list directly through ebay and found it very helpful. I also kept it hidden from the general buying public.

"~Auctiva, a provider of free tools for eBay sellers, has acquired Sellathon, publisher of eBay analytics tool ViewTracker. Auctiva will continue to operate Sellathon separately and plans few changes to the ViewTracker tool.~Auctiva is a good home for Sellathon. "It's a good strategic fit," Yeager said. "Our customers will be taken care of and not exploited." ~

It is also a very good idea not to host the HELP FORUMS of SELLATHON on the parent site, Help forums should always be available even when the parent site is DOWN!

I have subscribed to Sealthon for 2 years. This morning I cannot log in and just received a notice from Pay Pal that my automatic monthly deduction has been canceled.

I did NOT cancel it. Who did?

I have not received my full month of service for what I already paid.

I am posting here because I know Auctiva bought it. Please let me know what is going on?

The site is down and I cannot even log into the forums.
There was an issue with the Sellathon site that was resolved right around 9:30am. During the downtime you would not have been able to log into ViewTracker.

Hollyhock, I'm not sure why your account was refunded. I'll pass that onto the support staff.

For those with technical or billing questions, it's best to file a support case here:

One quick note:
The free version of the Sellathon counter does not include the ViewTracker functionality. This is just for the free Sellathon hit counter that Auctiva will append to your listings automatically and you'll be able to view your hit totals on the Auctiva listing pages.

I did not see this addressed, sorry if it's a duplicate. I have not ever been a paying subscriber to Sellathon, although when I first started with Auctiva I used the trial ID until it expired. I want to turn on the now free Sellathon counter, and get back into the Sellathon site to view the information. I tried my login at Sellathon and it informs me that I am (still) expired. What do I need to do to get the benefit of the new free feature?
