what am I possibly doing wrong here? when I create a new listing, I enter all the information, some with spaces between the lines so it looks like this:

The

Herbal

Spot

but when I go to preview it it looks like this:

The
Herbal
Spot

and when I put two spaces between instead of one it still does this, I am working in standard form as I do not know enough HTLMM thanks, Lisa

HTH.
Hmmm so would this work with the Seller Detail too......where I add my "shipping" info. I write it with spaces, and it comes out all one paragraph. I just assumed it wasn't programmed for as much (maybe too much) info as I put in it.
Each section where you can enter HTML also has a link to switch it to 'Standard'. When viewing in Standard, that link will display as 'HTML'. If you are in the HTML editor, spaces will be ignored, you would have to enter them manually as <b>. But if you are in the Standard editor, then you should be able to just type away the same as you could in any text editor, like Notepad, and the HTML code would be created 'behind the scenes'.

I suspect that you may have been writing straight into the HTML editor, which is the default view, and that's why your line breaks disappeared.
Hey I have had the same problem since I have had this program. Have inquired through support 2-3 x's and they don't know why it happens either. I get the listing all done with spacing and look at preview and no spacing. I have had this since March and have had to revise the listing once it is posted on Ebay for each listing..oh huummm. BUT I fooled around with it a few weeks back and found how to fix it. Once I have the listing the way I want it to look, I hit ctrl button and the A button to highlight the entire detail section. Go to style and click on 'code'. This highlights everything in orange and shows the spacing tabs. Next go to preview and the problem should be fixed. I have finally gotten it to work and have to do this each time I create a listing. Hope this works for you. :0)

Wow, thanks. I am going to try this!!! Thanks!!!
Hi there! Unfortunately, any previous listings have to all be manually adjusted for the spacing. However, if you happen to be selling a similiar item, and go to create similiar listing you won't have to change the details. It will stay that way for you. But each new listing you make you do have to highlight and click on the 'code' style. I am still messing around with it. I tried to get it to save that 'code' style in my item descrip. profile, but it just don't seem to work. It is driving me crazy. I just don't understand why it works for others but not us? I am wondering if it is a setting we have set wrong somewhere. I have Windows XP. What are you running? :0)

Wow!! Smile I have figured out the space thing in my Seller Details to use in "new listings", for the master profile.
I switched to standard and that seems to take care of it.
I tried changing an "ended" lising, a pre Auctiva listing on ebay using the instructions we've been given; the html click etc.
I was on FF and had to disable pop ups to get the pop up html box, but then it worked.
I didn't try to change the Seller Details on ebay tho and I didn't relist it, I just messed with the edit and saved it as a draft.
If I lose the edit I don't care, I was just trying it.
I have decided I would be better off to start over new here on Auctiva rather than editing the old ones on ebay. Main reason is I have a store and some will continue to end. It will be easier to relist if I have a Master profile enabled to revise if I need to and then relist.
At least "now" I know what I can do with the html clicks here- to revise over there.
But I think I will only use the pic html copy and paste to replace those pics that disappear, for some dang reason! I wish I knew why they disappear. Hopefully the ones I've redone will stay.
I spend most of my time checking to see what has stopped working and fixing it. That's why starting over with each one when it ends is gonna be easier and it won't cost me anymore than relisting, unless I would have been lucky enough to get the insertion fee back.
I am burned out on fixing!
Eek

SmileI've been looking for this for 3 days...voila!
I am using XP too.
I didn't try the control A yet, but will one of these days. I did edit my my Seller Details using standard with the spacing.
When I used the <b> as suggested above I got bold in my details and not spaces.
I have the master Seller Details set up now and don't plan on making another for a while but I will remember, or bookmark this post with your suggestions for when I do....thanks!
Hey again! The ctr A is just a shortcut to highlighting. It highlights everything at the same time rather than using your mouse to move over all the type. But I tried the >b< too and that is what appeared. heehee..I am always in standard not html so not sure. It must be our Window XP. Have no clue on how to fix it other than what I am already doing. ohhhh huuuummmm..If I come up with anything I will let you know and you do the same. Take care and thanks!
WHAAAAAT? OOps sorry Jeff my caps are on! Whaaat???
that is nutso! I did it the way Pete suggested and no kidding it came out bold. Maybe I did that in html and not standard!
If I can recall now, it's been so long and I have such short term memory loss, I think to make it work I didn't use the "b"s and just used Standard.... Big Grin We just have to trial and errrrr huh? LOL
Hey! That is what is driving me nuts. I always use standard and the spacing doesn't work unless I highlight and use the 'code'. It is a pain especially if I get on a roll and forget then have to revise in Ebay. Although, I always to have revise every item anyways in Ebay because in order to help customers search for your item, you need to put in, ie. color, size, etc. for each listing. So hopefully I will come up with something soon. heehee..
