I finally created my own logo to put in my auctiva store. i don't have an ebay store; is there any way to have my store logo in my ebay listings? i've seen lots of auctions that have a section before the listing that has their logo in it, but don't know if they all happen to have ebay stores...? thanks in advance! ...and here's the logo if anyone wants to give me an opinion... it definately needs more work, esp. the cabinet part, but frankly i think 270 x 100 is just a lil small for a decent store banner, so it was the best i could do in one day. thanks again!
NO SOUP FOR YOU!!

My understanding is that, as long as the logo with a URL is not hyperlinked, it is technically OK. However, I'm of the opinion that your ads are likely to get reported by people who see the URL and think that it is not eBay-OK.

Edit:

Nope - looks like I'm wrong...

well, i like what booklady said, frankly. Smile but if that's not the case... (i mean, heck, we can have the link to the store via the window, or our about me, but not in the actual listing? that seems a *lil* silly) anyway, i didn't want to link it, (altho i guess that would be nice Wink ) i just wanted to have it in my listing, as part of my template. or somewhere! Wink the name is the same on my scrolling window, 'click here to visit the curious cabinet', so i just figured an actual logo would be a nice addition so people knew to actually look for something w/ that name... ya know? Smile
Thanks for the info, Biscuit. Now that you mention it, I remember reading that before -- makes complete sense.

NOW: I should mention that I'd already forgotten that the original question was about linking to one's Auctiva store. Oops..

It does seem like it should be okay since it's a collection of your eBay listings and nothing else. However, as Biscuit suggests, some people will report a listing like that and even if it is eBay legal there are no doubt plenty of eBay employees who would kill the listing not knowing any better.

Of course, the other thing is -- if the rule quoted by Biscuit is the only rule that applies to this topic then it technically is against the rules, I guess.
hey, i like that idea, rick... cuz you can see in the logo, there's no addy, or anything... i wouldn't think that'd be 'illegal'... so, may i ask, biscuit, for the one you did... is it just a name, like mine, or does it have a url written on it? if you'd consider letting me view one of your auctions so i could see how you did yours, that would be nice, but that's up to you! Razz
but then again, all this will still involve me making my own template, and i'm feelin' kinda lazy lately. Wink besides, i'd need help... i used to have my own website, and write my own html.. but i only got so far (being self-taught), and i don't know if i have to create it in layers, or div layers, or whatever, or if i can just make a template i like, like i was creating a flat picture in psp, and then just chop it up so it loads right (that's what i used to do a lot.. you know how in PSP you can chop up a pic and it divides and names it for you and all? like that.) either way, it's been awhile since i've written html, really, so i'd need some refreshing.... but all this talking about it is making me want to do *some*thing! Wink

edit/// and do you think someone would report me if i made my own template w/the above logo as a part of it? it sure seems harmless enough to me! Razz
that's a good idea too, wiangel, thanks... i could *also* try to work it into one of the templates already, like craftman's corner or something (that's what my store is).. it'd prolly be easier for me to work it into an existing temp. than to create a new one, but it'd look better if i went the extra er, 100 miles! Wink i have ideas for my own template, it's just taking the time to work it out.. that i'm not good with! just the thought of it sounds daunting, cuz i'm not good at doing things in pieces... once i'd start i'd want to keep at it til i was done... and by then hubby'd be out of underwear! Eek
i meant the angel picture on top of the store.. yea, i would def. try to sharpen it a bit... but if you can't, i wouldn't worry too much if you really like the pic and can't find it bigger... it just kinda looks like a watercolor! Smile what photo editing prog. do you use? i would go with paint shop pro, personally, it's very handy dandy Wink
