I would much rather have the store wondow at the bottom of the listing. I've actually had customers complain to me that it is very distracting having it at the top.

Can you add a location button or something to the Store Window preferences?? We can choose wether to have it horizontally, vertically or full - would it be that hard to let us choose top or bottom placement???

THANKS!!!!

Well, it may seem starnge to you - but they are complaining... and I'm not hte only one getting complaints.

Mine are mostly "back-handed" complaints. I have MANY repeat buyers, and they've noticed my switch to Auctiva from Seller Sourcebook.

They all tell me that the templates look more professional, and are more pleasant to the eyes - but "put that darned scrolling thing at the bottom...you have too many nice things and I forget what I was looking for." This buyer ended up buying what she wanted.....BUT

That was one of the nicer complaints - others... not so much. I've recieved an email saying: "You are still on my Favorite Sellers List, but let me know when you move that scrolling thing to the bottom and I'll come back to shop. It is very distracting. It's like going into a department store for a sweater I saw in the window and just have to get, then once I step in the door 6 pushy sales people shove me around trying to sell me everything but the sweater I came for."

I know - it may seem like a trivial thing. But, I'm sure most online sellers will agree with me in that - if even ONE customer complains it becomes a major issue!

And I have MANY MORE than ONE complain!
No, no, I believe you. It just seems so weird to me.

It seems like if a person didn't mind the scrolling window at the bottom then why would they mind it at the top? They're going to scroll down to the listing's description anyway, so just scroll the Store Window off your screen! They they'd proceed to the bottom to bid and they'd never see the Store Window again. Whereas if the Window is at the bottom they still have to look at it as they go down to bid (unless they scroll all the way back to the top of the page).

I know, I know, different strokes and all that. I've just never had anybody complain about it.
I could be wrong, but I thought there was an option to move it to the bottom? If it's not an option with the standard templates, I'm pretty sure you can do it with a custom one.

There are also options to use a non-scrolling store window. I thought I was the only one who found it distracting.. and if I switch to using Auctiva exclusively, I'll use one of the other window options. I think there is a nice one where you can use a scrollbar to view the items.
Starry - Mike (Auctiva) is the one who told me that the only way to get a window at the bottom is to use the "Full" window option.

There are options as to which type of window to use (Vertical Scrolling, Horizontal Scrolling or Full Window), but no option to choose where it appears in the listing.

You can make it appear after the description by adding it in the HTML in the description... but:
1. This places it after your description of the item you are listing but BEFORE the photos of what you are listing, basically in the middle of the listing, which makes it even more distracting to me.
2. You have to remember to manually add the tag to each listing. Inconvenient for me, plus I have a bad memory! Wink

I'd also like to request that Auctiva provide the option of placing the store window below the item description and item photos.

My customers tell me it is distracting to have it at the beginning of the item description. I tried moving it to the end, by inserting the window's HTML code after my item desciption code. The result is that the window appears between the item description and the item photos ... this is even worse! Personally, when I look at other people's listings, I find the window location distracting and annoying also. I like to consider the item I'm shopping for before I decide whether to browse other items. Call it serial rather than parallel shopping.

Anyway, please consider this suggestion seriously. The store window is great, it just needs to be locatable in a place where it does not detract from the item listing.

Thanks for a great service!
