I know I have filed a report as I am so frustrated!! I have been using auctiva for about a year and all went well but it has been a nightmare lately and I also would consider changing as the time and money involved with the listings screwing up is very annoying. But then again we are not paying for it! Not sure of what we, Canadians are supposed to do regarding the shipping section, do you?

Hi,

Can you be more specific as to the selections or settings that are causing errors?

Is it possible something on the form accidently changed to have an incorrect combination from your prior listings?

I'm assuming you're....

1. Selecting ebay Site Canada at the top of the one-page lister for listing to Canada eBay.

2. Selecting your postal code without a problem in Shipping Tools section. Yes, it does show Zip Code as generic place-holder on the form. Maybe that's a good one for the Auctiva suggestion box for less confusion. Wink

3. Selecting Calculated Shipping for either/both Domestic or International, which would REQUIRE weight and package dimensions (for some combinations). Those wouldn't be needed (or even show on the form) for Flat Rate.

Auctiva is constantly making changes to the one-page lister form to maintain requirements with eBay changes. I've occassionally had to reset or redo something from a prior saved listing due to that problem (unavoidable given eBay's constant changes). They also are sometimes behind in a change that can require update of a listing after submission.

I filled in the postal code.
In the Canadian form the weights and measures are in kg and cm, since we are metric.
I have filled in those blanks and the pop-up says
'invalid pounds' and invalid measurements.
So I'll try in pounds.
This is, of course, using calculated shipping as under Canada Post we cannot ship for a flat rate and it costs more to ship to New Jersey than California.
I may try filling in with the Canada Post parcel sizes, but that adds a huge amount to my cost of shipping.

I have been doing auctions since 1998 and have tryed other listing services at a hefty cost for them and still had the same problems with them can't mention names but the one I liked and stayed with the longest went down for close to a week and when it came back up no one could use the ceckout for another 4 days needless to say I quit them and went back to using ebay service for auctions which has the lest problems but they still have theres too and it cost you to do just about everything. I have been with Auctiva now about a year and yes they have there problems but your not paying double to use there services like you would with a pay service.
Guess what I'm saying is I can live thru there problems just like I've done with all the others
and it will get better! Smile Eek

invalid pounds' and invalid measurements

Hi,

The only way I was immediately able to replicate that error was by filling the fields with invalid values, e.g. "5 kg" instead of just the number "5", gave the red "Pounds Invalid". I also tried a number out of range, like "1000" in the grams field and got "Ounces Invalid".

I think those are simply field fill tests with a generic error message for field error, and not an indication of use for pounds vs. Kilograms.

What exactly are you entering that's producing the error?

I have finally managed to post! I can't tell you how much trial and error I have gone through. I have given the buyer warnings within my description to double check shipping with me and have given the accurate weight in the description as the forms will not accept accurate weights.
Thanks for your suggestions. To the other Canadians who have had similar problems, you have to be thorough in the Shipping part of the form, which we didn't have to do before. It does work, just persevere.
