Any time is good for updates but NOT Sunday mornings and afternoons. Doing maintenance or "updates" on Sundays just shows that Auctiva HAS NO CLUE on the nature of eBay selling.

Dear Auctiva! Sundays count for over 50% of eBay business! Please remember it and keep it in mind. One more time my listings are screwed on Monday and I will definitely go somewhere else.
Granted, the majority of us use Auctiva's free service because we don't produce enough sales volume to justify paying Ebay $16.95 per month for a store. But obviously, having people (even us po' folks) using the service, is somehow generating profits for Auctiva. Why else would they be in business? So, I have to assume we are necessary to Auctiva's success.

Seems to me, since I began my Auctiva experience a few weeks ago, that while the templates are cute, and it's nice to save a few pennies on posting photo images on Ebay - the various necessary functions (whether server-related or software-related) always find a way of being rendered useless at the most inopportune times (like the last weekend before Christmas, like the 2nd to the last weekend before Christmas, etc.).

I'm seriously wondering if saving a few bucks through Auctiva isn't costing me more in lost Ebay traffic. After all the dust clears, I'll have to rethink this thing.
I agree with you Bubba. But I am a high volume seller--I run two different Stores, plus auctions for those IDs thru Auctiva. I have another ID that I do pay for service to list. Plus yet another ID...I have 4 selling IDs to take care of!!

It's not that I can't afford a more reliable service, but I was under the impression that Auctiva "was" a reliable service, based upon eBays own recommendations unders the Thrid-party Service Providers pages. I wanted something quicker and easier than dinking around with Turbolister and having to "relearn" a new provider. Anyone can learn the tricks to getting around paying for the picture services, can learn HTML to create nice templates, use a free photo hoster such as Photobucket ($25 bucks a year, I should say, but uptime is guaranteed). But I quite frankly I don't have the time to be jerking around with all that.

I believe service is service whether or not your a high volume seller or not. Frown
I'm slowly moving my pictures over to other, more reliable hosts. I have 1gig of space on my site host account, so I'll have plenty of space there. I recommended Auctiva to everyone I could when I first started with this service back in September, but as I become more serious about selling and listing, the little bitty glitches with images and listing that I could put up with in the beginning are becoming intolerable.

It's sad, too. Auctiva's one-stop-shopping, so to speak, has been a godsend. I suppose what they say is true: If it looks too good to be true, it probably is.
Thanks for responding to Bubba Tabitha. I was just going to make a comment that this service has no bearing on if we own or do not own an ebay store, or how high or low our sales are. I pay the $16 a month for a store, this site has nothing to do with that.

I initially joined Auctiva to make my selling life a bit simpler, but the last few months have been anything but. They have not been trouble free for 3 months, I can tell you that much. At least once a week there is some major glitch that we in turn get to deal with. Updates without notification, lost images, auctions not reconciling, etc.

Currently I have items I cannot pay for insurance for thru UPIC since the database cannot "find" my completed auctions and current listings that do not show images in current auctions. And lord knows how many times buyers have gone to view my items without pictures. I seem to come in and check the boards after it is resolved.

It has been a major learning lesson since I joined in August. I used to stick up for the service, but no longer feel I am able to do so as I am at a breaking point. I am currently looking for another service that I can afford, if all else fails I will go back to paying $5 a month for my own hosting account and uploading with Turbolister.
I, too have had many problems, just this morning, I could not find an item by searching for it. I went to ebay help and they said they saw it and some of you did also. Now I am trying to List Similar and cannot get the pictures to upload. It has been even harder for me because I do not know everything about the system, yet. I like everything about Auctiva except the headaches. I lost a lot last month and this month when pictures were not showing up and part of my listings were messed up with wrong pictures.
I am not sure if everyone knew about this, but all last week people were having problems signing on to ebay. I did not have trouble until after kbalona said something. Appharently there were major issues with an update they had done there about signing on. Some even stated possible virus in the ebay DB's.

All is running fine again, just not sure who all was aware of this. It was blasted all over the ebay boards about people being able to sign on to other users accounts.
