I want to upgrade immediately so I can post many auctions during the next couple of weeks, so I upgraded to the $9.95 plan only to discover that it doesn't take effect until Sept 1st.

Does this mean I will be charged $.50 per auction beyond the 15 if I go over that number? I don't mind paying the difference between the plans for this month, but I don't want to wait until Sept 1st to post all of these auctions.

Thanks!

Sorry Michael if I mislead you in any way. I was going by the Auctiva Terms info. That will save you some $$$ if you can get the change to take place immediately.

Auctiva Mike,

Is this standard procedure now or maybe I should ask, is this what applies to everyone?

I wouldn't want to post a reply & mislead someone and of course I was looking simply at the rules in your Payment Terms Table. So, would just like to know for future reference or maybe it should be changed in the rules.

It's hard to keep up not knowing if the rules apply (or not) in the terms ...I understand Auctiva can arbitrarily make any changes at any time.

Thanks
Hi LifeisLike,

No worries - I certainly understand where you are coming from. The software is programmed such that plan changes initiated through the user interface will take place at the beginning of the next month however our support team can upgrade a user's plan for the current month when necessary. The primary situation in which we see this being necessary is if a user on the Starter plan decides to post a lot more listings than he/she previously thought such that the Standard plan would be less expensive.

We want to avoid allowing immediate plan changes, except for upgrades from the Free Tools plan, because allowing users to freely switch between plans would leave the system open to abuse. It would also create the possibility of needing to do an overcomplicated amount of proration with respect to billing.

You were right on point with respect to what the original poster experienced when he/she upgraded his plan using the user interface. I hope this clears things up Smile

Thanks Auctiva Mike and for the very reasons you listed is exactly why I thought the rules were in place as you have stated.

I generally use your resources before I respond to a question because it is better than inserting foot into mouth! LOL

But you know as old adage goes..if you do it for one you could find yourself in a situation of doing it for all. But, flexibility is really nice when needed. It's a nice thing to do.

Just want to keep my ducks in a row...
