How about a forum on the board JUST FOR *ITCHING, okay "VENTING" frustrations, that way users who need help can actually read what's important, not the 'venting' and slamming. Just a suggestion.

Nah, it would never work. People who are angry and upset want to bitch when and where they choose. Also, most of the noisiest complainers are new to the boards, which suggests to me that they're really only here because they're so irritated (not everyone, of course).
Someone else suggested that the Auctiva staff should set up a forum for updates that only they can post in, which seems like a brilliant idea to me!
Believe me, I feel your pain! I feel most sorry for people who have legitimate (non-bitching) questions because it's really easy to overlook those questions with all of the other filler on the boards right now. Personally, I try to read every active thread at least every other day but I've had to give that up for the last couple of days. Too too much counterproductive negativity to wade through...

I completely 100% agree with that!
Make the NEWS a read only - no posting allowed. It is very frustrating to try and find any updates or news when you have to dig and dig through pages and pages of crap to find it

Go to that thread, click on 'Notify' and then options -> cancel.

It would appear that Auctiva has implemented something along those lines. When I go to the News forum and select Notify, there is now an option to Include Replies. I'm assuming that if you don't select Include Replies, you will only get the first message posted and none of the replies. Hope that is the case.

More like common sense if you ask me, many other sites are set up with a READ only section for updates from the staff only!

Of course, that's only good if important information is in the first post only -- but the idea should be that Auctiva staff can keep adding information to their own threads without all of the filler stuff that makes them difficult to wade through...

I don't know WHERE I am supposed to post anything actually. But- I would like to make a suggestion- (yep, probobly posting this in the wrong place too... but) maybe Auctiva should put up a board for JUST PROBLEMS. Or, to be more specific, JUST TECH PROBLEMS RELATED TO AUCTIVA.
There. I'll bet half of you know why I am so frustrated tonight, I can't LIST. Normally i am the most patient person in the entire world. Or at least one of them. I just wanted to get on here and get a few new listings up, okay, well, a lot of new listings up and at least saved. I can't do that because every single time for the last 1 1/2 hours I try to do a listing, I hit the "post" button, and I get the lovely little error page that says just "an error has occured please file a support case or try again".
Okay. I'm done yelling. I'm sorry I yelled.

but IMHO, if I were Auctiva, I wouldn't insert myself into alot of these board discussions. Too easy to get drawn in and put on the defensive. And it's good to keep just a little bit of space between the Auctiva people and the Auctiva users. Like the officers versus the enlisted men.I'd ramble on as usual, but I'm bushed. I guess they can't tell time, either. Their maintenance was supposed to start at 11 PM Pacific time. The site went haywire a lot sooner than that. And when the images go down, so does the ability to tell anyone - the form to send a support request will not load - in ANY browser, so it isn't a browser issue (one of the fallback excuses).

What I want to know is why anyone would gripe about a free site like this anyway. Yes it has flaws, yes sometimes it seems to have a mind of its own..I get mad everytime Im writing a discription and the little updater iframe thingy decides its gonna start while im typing and it locks me up for 3 mins or more. and sometimes never recovers..but I havent said a word about it in any post...you know why? because its free people...its not like your paying for this excellent service. I love this site...granted Im pretty new to it, but let me tell ya..ive tried a few others that werent free and they werent anywhere near as good as this service... griping on this site is like me giving you 10 bucks for nothing and having you punch me in the mouth for it. Get a grip you gripers...ITS FREE!!!!!!!!!!!
