That's because it's eBay security. They review listings on occassion for fraud. Once they are certain they are ok they put them back into search.

Since this was done by eBay and not us cancelling will not help. They normally review listings they put on hold pretty quickly, witha few hours.

Here is the recent eBay announcement concerning their stepped up efforts to combat fraud on eBay: http://www2.ebay.com/aw/core/200704.shtml#2007-04-09091721
Hi, for my penny worth, I do not believe that anybody but eBay or the seller can 'pull' a listing off line.

Early on I queried with eBay why the eBay toolbar 'Account Guard' would not turn green when the Auctiva site web page was displayed. It is because they are quite seperate companies.

In that case Auctiva appears only to be able to access your account to post listings and import certain stats by use of a token which you initially have to grant permission for.

I did not have any problems when I signed up to Auctiva with my ebay store active. But I have had one item vetted by eBay which took nearly a day to clear, and of course they still charge you for that lost day !

I would have chased them up further but even if they extended the listing by a day to make up for it then it would have finished later and I wanted a certain end date.

As usual score is eBay 1 : seller 0. Frown
I, too, think that ebay has tried to solve thier fraud problem by setting their system to pick up on any possible 3rd party activity, of which, auctiva is a 3rd party. They froze my account a few days ago becuase of possible 3rd party access.

Ebay needs to not trigger their alarms when a 3rd party that they have approved of authorizes a seller's account.
The problem is hackers sign up and authorize a seller's account too so eBay can't just trust that.

There is a difference between someone who has been an Auctiva user for a year, and someone who just signed up today and then proceeded to put up 35 pairs of sunglasses at suspicious prices with 1 day listings.

eBay is more closely checking newly registered customers accounts to make sure they are legitimate from what we can tell. They don't tell us what they do, when, why, or anything else. It takes from a few minutes to a few hours and then after that you should be able to use our service without delay.
